i've had that one b4, it was pretty cool, especially the "fake HD Activity" checkbox feature. i just want a nice screenshot and/or ability to have it dump a screenshot of the bsod. you know what i mean?

you call 3dfx a company? fisrt they f*cked themselves by screwing over their OEM's, then they screwed over their loyal customers (like i was) when they took forever to release a card that was a year too late, i sat around with a Voodoo 3 2000 and waited for a new card to come out that would kick an NVidia card's a.ss .... did that happen? NO! The poor ba.stards ran out of money and had to sell their <sarcasm>company</sarcasm>.

i've already seen all of those BSOD pics, i saw them on a linux site. my question is, can you make windows do a screen capture when ever you get a bSoD? I'd like that.
-
yea, HL already has a great storyline, a movie would kick a.ss!!

More people found out about this site thanks to TechTV's plug the other night on "The Screen Savers". Thats like the third time NTC has been mentioned. Maybe Leo Laporte will post sometime.

truthfully? Nope.

i use CladDVD 1.71 to rip .VOB files from DVD's, then encode them using FlaskMPG, i am unable to rip at all. The last time i ripped anything was when i was suing Win2k 2195 SP1, i'm using XP 2481 Pro, i have a Pioneer DVD-115 (tray) 16x DVD-ROM, i have the ASPI 4.60 driver installed correctly, if anyone else has this problem and/or a fix for it, let me know. Thanks.

i'd imagine per. is faster than pro. there's probably less services to start.

NVidia has never screwed me over in anyway, there are always drivers for any OS, the cARDs never go bad, (still got the good 'ol TNT in the other computer), whereas 3dfx cards quality (in my opinion) started to deteriorate when 3dfx started only allowing STB to manufacture them. They had excellent cards when other companies made them, i used to have 2 voodoo2 pci's running SLIwith a sh1tty onboard vid card. 3dfx screwed themselves. who really cares about a 3dfx card? most people use NVidia cards anyway because ever since the TNT2, they have been the superior card. DIE 3DFX!

Download WindowBlinds XP Beta 4 from Stardock, 1MB. http://www.stardock.com/files/wbxp-b4_private.exe

sounds like operator error to me, almost everyone else (including me)seems to think XP is getting faster, oh, i have found that the defragger that comes with XP is sh1tty, it doesn't defrag well at all, try using NTFS instead of FAT32, it fragments far less. if that doesn't help you, oh well.

who cares??? who still uses 95? if your comp still uses 95 then chances are that it doesn't meet minimum system requirments for XP anyway, BTW, didn't you know M$ is a Monopoly? there's nothing else i can say that Seldzar hasn't already said, think about it man, he's right.

just set LiLo to boot dos by default then use the win2k boot menu, as for installing, just use a dos boot disk or the ME cd to install ME to another drive, win2k should make the proper changes, if win2k doesn't make the changes, just run the win2k repair utility, it will fix it and win me and win2k should be in the boot menu, as for booting linux after setting dos as the default, just type "linux" and hit enter to boot linux.

you guys are talking about the "nForce" right? the card thats in XBox i believe.

what i'm saying is that if he doesn't want NT to access the hard drive at all, he could make it small and put it on a small ram drive, with a lot or ram you don't even need a pagefile.
-
thats why you use a third party program to make the ramdrives. and yes you can put the pagefile on a ramdisk, i've seen it done numerous times.
-
if anyone has the full version of this please e-mail me at eddie@intrepid.net, i have a few questions. Thanks.
-
what you were saying about being paranoid about MS writing the cracks is starting to make a little sense. scary huh?
-
windows nt does require a small amount of space for a pagefile i've been told, either 2mb or 12mb, i'm not sure, what you could do is use a 20mb or so ramdisk and then place your page file on that and windows will not use the hard disk but instead it will use ram that it thinks is a hard disk, get it? thats what i've read and been told, i have 768mb ram, i nver run out of it, and windows xp allows me to turn off the pagefile, so thats what i do, i have no pagefile.
-
so loengard, you're saying on my first boot after install when in safe mode, i should install my dial-up connection and file and print sharing then reboot? that will fix the problem?
-
yea, you're tellin me, ask pimpin_228 how his benchmarks jumped up from 1200's to 5800's going from win2k to xp2481
-
funny thing is, i went from "3990" in 3dmark 2000 1.1 in win2k, to "5129" in xp2446 and "6830" in xp2481, cool huh?
-
thats why its called a personal computer, not public MSGuy.
-
using 2481 with a reset crack here, just wondering if its what is causeing my dialup login and password to get erased whenever i restart or shutdown. Any ideas?
