in Bios Feature Setup I believe it will have listed what floppies you have, change them to NONE. then there's another, i don't remember where, its: Win95 report no Floppy, or something like that, ENABLE that one.

yea, i went back to 6.34, no effect. no, i haven't tried uninstalling dx8 and reinstalling it yet, anyone got a link for the little dx uninstaller or do i need it? i haven't ever had to uninstall DX.

yea, remove them and change the bios settings for them

i have both of those cards, i found myself using the tnt because of the better driver support and the ability to do far more with it, also the texture crap too.

think of Personal as the Home User Version. think or Professional as the Business Version/High End Version. ------------- Even though Win2k Pro is for Business use (supposedly), i, and thousands others, use it for home/gaming use.

ok, if you don't have the big bucks to spend, you can buy a GeForce2 MX, overclock the hell out of it and it'll run very very nicely, the only drawback of the MX model is the SDR (Single Data Rate) Ram that it uses, but you don't see me complaining, at least not for the performance it's shown me and the low price tag of $150 USD

Yup, the hardest thing is admitting that you're a newbie. I had alot of the same problems you have right now back when i started using win2k about 14 months ago. I never really used themes, check out WindowBlinds, its a small app that has some shell enhancements that'll blow your mind. I don't use it anymore but it's a keeper.

but it would fu*k your system.....seriously. just do a dual boot with winme and 2k. don't worry about whistler right now, you're still young, have fun, these are the best years of your life, yada yada yada..........

Look at the number of Posts beside my name, DosFreak, jdulmage, etc. We have been around for awhile. All of the posts that i have may have not been the most intelligent or what not, but i have been here for a year, back in the day when win2k wasn't gold yet, and people could never get those damned detonator drivers working with it, ahh yes, those were the days.

is it available for download? i know the bar you are taling about, i saw screenshots from Whistler 2410.

go into system properties, go to advanced, startup and recovery, turn off Auto Reboot. that might help with it restarting the system, you might also have a problem with DirectDraw, run "dxdiag" and check it out. without more of a description of your problem i can't help you any further.

why didn't you just set it up to dual boot 9x and 2k? i don't think giving up a great OS like Win2k is worth it because of one program or piece of hardware.
