i agree, i hate the peice of sh1t floppies also. just let it go, i'd like to not have to have a floppy too

ok, i got an Abit Vh6, i set it to boot from the cdrom, needless to say that it won't! I tired everything, it won't even to to boot, i'm at a friend's house now because i was unsuccessful in installing it. i've never had a problem installing Win2k but the problems started when i got the VH6. I booted off my winme floppy (the crappy one that makes the RAMdrive.) It keeps giving me the error UNABLE TO INSTALL BOOT LOADER. Now that i think about it i believe that i used the Win2k install floppies last time i formatted and reinstalled, just wondering if i get this error because of the method i was using to install 2k.

Just a few questions for people here in the Forum, over the past year I have discovered that most people here love to overclock, so do i, but sometimes i get scared to push my CPU to the next level. I know a lot of you love Celerons, so do i. So how far have you pushed yours? Post some of your experiences here, i'd really like some feedback on this. It interests me and a lot of others.

Man, i seriously don't know, Whistler is beta, you kind of have to accept these errors until it goes gold, maybe jdulmage can help you, he has lots of experience with Whistler, try to supply more info about your setup though, giving just a STOP error really doesn't give much info.

i have to give up my fav dvd decoder card for windows 2000, i have no regrets.

then whats the build number??! if its 5.1.2410 then its not Beta 2, its PRE-BETA 2.

i'm using the same card as you right now, the 6.34 drivers (which i believe come with the 3d prophet2mx) are really good.

yea, that works too, but it's a little difficult, especially if you're a beginner or if you're too lazy to do all of that. But it does work.

i saw no improvement last year when i put my pagefile on a ramdisk (had 512mb pc100 then). ok, here's a question. if I make a 16mb ramdisk and put a 12mb pagefile on it, will it work correctly and not use the hard disk? i really would like to free up a gig of space on the HD.

trust me man, if doing what you are doing was the best thing then it would be a tweak on every website and every message board. I have 640MB sdram pc133, i've never ran out of physical memory, windows doesn't even use my swap file, it just allocates it incase i HAVE to use it. no i am not using a dynamic swap, its static at 1gb.

here's how it works. i'll try to explain it in as few words as possible. your swap file is there incase you run out of physical memory, then the computer uses the swap file as virtual memory, if you put your swap file on a ramdisk, it will cause you to run out of physical memory even faster with no virtual memory on the hard disk to turn to, you end up crashing the computer or something. see where i'm getting at? go ahead and try it, i'm willing to bet you get no improvement in speed if not a system crash. if you still don't understand then i'll try to explain in greater detail.

why would you use a RAMdisk for a pagefile, we had this discussion on the boards here about a year ago and came to the conclusion that its pointless, try using the search feature cause i don't feel like explaining it again.
