On my present Temp. Setup (PII333@375, 128MB ram) ICQ 2000a tried to use 78MB of memory just to start, i know this isn't natural. My pagefile space was: Min.320 Max:460. Got a low memory error after icq slowed the system to a halt, i was able to open task manager and open Processes, as i said above, it was trying to use 78MB. Then i got a C++ runtime error. I know my system needs to be defragged but i am too lazy right now and its time that i do a fresh win2k install anyway. Just wanted to know if anyone else had this particular problem. Thanks.

Yup, just downloaded it, it worked fine b4, then all of a sudden...boom! I jusr formatted and reinstalled win2k, this time i installed icq99b instead of 2000a.

i searched, but didn't find anything.

No, i think MS should just give users the option of installing or not installing Internet Explorer instead of forcing it on everyone. Other than that i don't have much of an opinion

hey, just reinstalled WinME b2 (4.90.2419) for the he11 of it on my spare hdd. I know its old and now it displays a message when starting saying that it will expire on 5/15/00. Now, i could care less about this OS, but i DO want to screw with it, anyone know how to make it so it doesn't expire?

yea, tell me about it, i'm in a 56k, and when i had NT4, i had to download SP6, and i think it had to be at least 35MB, but it was one .exe file. i read something on a website i visited about Windows Whitler and Service packs, here it is, i dunno if it'll help you though: ......."MS has now decided that these current releases are builds made to go towards Windows 2000 SP1, and after it's released, MS will keep making more builds to go toward windows whistler, but for now its about windows 2000 sp1, dosent look that different than win2k. Sooooo, the new GUI aint been started just yet, they lied, MS is working on Whistler, and going to pop out win2k sr-1 with one of the builds they are using for whistler later on, new GUI should be starting to take form in up coming builds..."
