RDRAM isn't worth it!! Not at its price $1000 for 128MB RDRAM PC800, stick with SDRAM for now, until the prices go down.

I believe those were my CRC (cyclic redundancy check) errors that i told you about Yuppie.....it turned out to be a bad burn of the Office 2k disc (which was only a backup of my existing Office 2000 disc) [This message has been edited by EddiE314 (edited 15 February 2000).] [This message has been edited by EddiE314 (edited 16 February 2000).]

I have an ABit BP6 with two cel400a's overclocked to 500MHz, i did have the up to 550, but i though i'd try to extend their lives. They're very stable as long as you have sufficient cooling. [This message has been edited by EddiE314 (edited 10 February 2000).]

I haven't noticed any real difference in speed between NTFS and FAT32. I believe that command that you posted is correct, make sure you check by going to the command prompt and typing: help format Personally I'd stick with FAT32. [This message has been edited by EddiE314 (edited 07 February 2000).]

Hey man......I know exactly what that means..........NOT!! why did you even send all of that?!? who the hell can read a stack dump? Be more specific and you'll get more specific answers.

nope, all the programs work fine as far as i know, you said that you have Win2k on NTFS and Win98 on FAT32, you have to have both Win98 and Wi2k on a Fat 32 partition because Win98 doesn't understand NTFS. Yuppie, I got Office 2k to work using this method [This message has been edited by EddiE314 (edited 06 February 2000).]

may i kindly remind everyone who *****es about Windows 2000 and says that it sucks because there is no driver support. THE OPERATING SYSTEM IS NOT YET RELEASED!!!!!!! ....STOP PUTTING IT DOWN, LET MICROSOFT RELEASE IT AND THEN I'M SURE THAT MANUFACTURERS WILL RELEASE DRIVERS FOR PRODUCTS. If you don't like Win2K.....don't use it, it sounds like you need a good copy of Win 3.x Just wait until after Feb 17th and stop whining, oh boo hoo, i can't play my little games...blah blah blah. All of the games i wanna play work great.

Yup Yup Yup, ToolTips are good. My HardDrive says PIO Mode also, i could care less. Device manager/IDE Atapt Controllers/Primary IDE Channel/Properties/Advanced Settings/ It says it under Device 0, mine is Primary Master and nothing else is on Primary. But i could care less, Windows 2000 doesn't crash, I am happy. [This message has been edited by EddiE314 (edited 06 February 2000).]

Hmmm..... *shakes head*

Yes you can do it because i do it. Here's what you do. Say you want to install Adobe Photoshop 5, you have to install it to the same place in both OS's, for example: Under Win 2000: c:\Adobe\ Under Win98 SE: c:\Adobe\ Install it in Windows98 to whatever location you wish, and when you're done, boot over to Windows2000 and also install it, but remember to install it to the EXACT place you put installed it in Win98.Doing this will overwrite the files but the program will work under both Win98 and Win2K because installing it under both OS's made the registry changes that were needed, it doesn't use double the space because they are both using the same files....get it? OH, your drive has to be FAT32 to do this. My partition is one 8GB hard drive with one partition of FAT32 in whick Windows 2000 and Windows 98 SE reside.
