no (or hardly any) 3rd party support, that in itself makes linux suck....although i personally think it has a hell of a lot of potential, the worst distro is by far Redhat though.

it was only a crappy Macintosh, and the thought of the saw blade cutting through it like butter was too much to resist.

this has happened to me several time with different USB Optical mice, but just to explain my problem i'll use the Logitech iFeel Mouse USB as an example. During normal use, the mouse cursor will freeze and i'll hear the Disconnected Device sound, a second later i'll hear the Device Connected sound followed by the cursor moving again. What i'm trying t say is that my mouse more or less seems like it is being unplugged and plugged back in quickly. Any Ideas?

My problem is as follows: After installing new drivers and the v1.1 patch the game actually plays without corrupt textures. But now the new problem is, when playing for a period of time, the game will: Lock up for no reason. Restart the computer. Hang on a Blank Screen. All of these problems seemed to be driver related at first, i tried various drivers ranging from Detonator 3's (6.62-14.60) and Detonator 4's (21.83-23.10). The Detonator 4's seem to be the best because the game will actually play for over 5 minutes without messing up whereas the Det 3's will mess up in a matter of seconds. Anyone else experience this??

you can enable auto end tasks in the registry and/or use tweak XP or X-Setup to tell the registry how long programs/services should go before ending them, i set mine to 2 seconds.

I would have made the poll: "Best all around video card of the year" my vote for that poll would be GF2MX, other than that i voted for GeForce 3

i only get Inf. Loop Errors with Detonator 4 drivers + DivX ;-) encoded videos. other than that, i have been using it also since some of the first betas, and as of now (RTM) i love it, i thought it was kick-a.ss ever since build 2446, although 2526 was my fav build, 2600 is great too.

ok, one question, i have a Pentium III 667 in my other box, if i bump the FSB to 140mhz i get 700mhz and if i bump it to 150mhz i get 750MHz, i have PC150 SDRAM so thats not a problem, any other suggestions on how i can get it higher? BTW, the mobo is an ABit VH6 with the "yy" bios revision dated May, 3rd 2001.

Lead Pencil works fine for Me, both Athlons and Durons are easy to unlock, i use a .5mm Mechanical #2 pencil and seal the leads off with transparent tape, to relock the cpu i simply peel the tape off.

Jeff, is your copy of Red Faction the full install or a ripped install? if its the full install i'll download it from you. Size?

lol, funny you should say that. i got my Celeron 667 up to 1133MHz at 1.95v. I got my Athlon 850 up to 1053MHz last night, brought it back down to 1GHz though because i need better cooling (Athlon 850@1000MHz@1.800v) Idle 87F/31C Full 99F/37C

might be XP itself, you might have to actually do a clean reinstall of XP If it still does it then i also think it may be hardware issue with your mobo and XP's drivers for your USB Controller

is AvP2 fun? If so i can try get one of them to snatch a copy with the cdkey. As for using the Demo .exe file in place of the Retail .exe, i was taking a guess that that will fix the CD Check, but what about Online Playability, will I need a CD Key (e.g. CS, Q3TA, etc)?

I compared Idling ram usage on Pro and Home.., Home uses about 10MB less ram at the most, turning off about 4 services on Pro will free up that much.

dude, i think your problem is that you are either using a "no-cd crack" for the game or you screwed up Win2k/WinXP in the Upgrade, i suggest you format your computer and reinstall a clean copy of WinXP and it would help if you didn't use cd cracks.
