I'm running an Intel PIII-800 with a TNT2 and I've had no problems running the game fully patched. Without patches, I'm not so sure, but I've had no problems otherwise. I have heard of some CD-ROM drives having issues with the Safedisk protection, so the no-cd patches at gamecopyworld.com or megagames.com might be of some help.

I've upgraded from Beta 2 to RC1 and then to RC2, and have no problems doing so. Absolutely none. It's amazing. Granted, I had a clean install with Beta 2, and since RC1 and RC2 are merely building on the previous builds and not really changing a whole lot with the system, I'm not too surprised. And I must say that I like RC2. It fixed a few annoying bugs that I've had from 2k, Beta 2, and RC1...such as the dissappearing network icon in the tray. I have two NICs, and after a few hours of use, one of the icons would dissappear until the next reboot. Not really crucial, but annoying. Yeah, go ahead and upgrade. Seems to run a bit smoother than the previous versions--if that's possible.

I'm running it on WinXP RC1 and a Geforce2--but with the 14.20 detonators instead of the default XP and the 12.40 NVidia drivers. Other than the sound glitch i had before, I've had no problems.

If anything, keep the drivers that come with XP or windowsupdate if you have a Soundblaster Live!. I tried to install some of the 2k drivers (LW3) and the drivers that come with the 5.1 cards--and the game would not run--at least with sound. If I turned off the sound it would run.

Where can we get windowblinds xp? I've looked around for it, but drawn blanks everywhere... Thanx.

Well, I thought WMP8 couldn't be any better than WMP7, but it is. The full screen bit is a bit more involved, adds all kinds of little trinkets. It also seems to run a bit better, but it gets confused with some DiVX codecs, but other than that, it is much better than 7.

Its under NWLINK IPX/SPX. It installs automatically if you install the Novell Client, and I believe you can install it on its own. It also has NETBIOS integrated into it.

Is there any way to jus create the theme for XP without all the WindowBlinds mumbo-jumbo? It has its own program built in for making the themes work, and its much more encompassing than WindowBlinds. There's gotta be a way to make themes for XP....

Does anybody know of some good software that we could set up on our domain to allow users to login, get their homedrive files from anywhere in the world? We've decided to look into this field and I was wondering if anybody here had or has something that they feel works well.

I'm setting up a windows 2000 test network to replace our current Novell network, and I need to come up with login scripts that will map a series of drives. They have to work across all Windows versions (95,98,ME,NT,2k)--and so far I've had no luck. I've only gotten the home path to map correctly on NT/2k machines, which is annoying because there are alot of 95/98/ME machines still in use. If anybody has any suggestions, feel free to send them along.

I've recently upgraded to DirectX 8 then 8a, and since then, I've been no longer been able to play NHL 2001...The error I get is "You do not have DirectX 7. Please install DirectX 7. Could not load "(null)"" Any ideas on how to fix? I'd really like to play this game. Also, it's totally patched.

When I try to run a fully-updated version of NHL 2001, it gives me an error saying I need DirectX 7. I have 8.0a installed. I just wanna play the game!!!

I've downloaded the copy from the MSDN Site, but I'm not sure how to burn it to a cd where it will be bootable. Any ideas?
