This just keeps getting worse. First no Panther Drivers, no SMP q3 /w Voodoo3, and now the best game EVER won't install. Thank goodness for cheap hardrives, I would recommend dual boot OS w98se/w2k. Maybe an E-mail to microprose will get some action, this is of course the best game EVER. It has to run on microsofts flagship OS, maybe they can help (yeah right). Please post a reply if you find something. I'll check on it and do the same when I get time I mostly play civ2 while on the road. Good thing I saw this before I fomrated my laptop and w2k'd it, I would haved KO'd the thing into a wall when I went to install CIV2 the best game EVER.

This would be 3dfx's job right? Man this sucks. Just had this same trouble, don't get me wrong it my new dual celery 366 @550 playing one cpu is faster than my old 233mmx @ 225 (75MHZ FSB better ya know). this w2k smp is not too bad but now I have no SMP in Q3 and no pantherXL drivers for w2k. Drivers will come after release I heard, but who knows when or if 3dfx will put enough resources into the V3. I have a feeling there forging ahead and leaving us behind. Maybe I can return the videocard, should have built this thing around my V2 SLI and waited for 2nd gen T&L but for 90 bucks I wanted to get out of my Intergraph reactor (Virete 1000) 2d (It really sucked).

before CPU IDLE pro both cpu's would run @ 40C when clocked @ 517 (94MHZ fsb). celeron 366's. With cpuidle the machine rest @ 25C for each cpu running @ 550. The machine was not stable @ 550 before (voltage @ 2.1, too chicken to go higher). I was going to beef up the heatsinks and fans, 3dfx cool socket 7's hs/f combo is what I was looking at but they look to big and the space between the 2 cpus look to small. I think I'll keep it like this for a while and by better heatsinks when I want to play above 100. I HIGHLY RECOMEND CPUIDLE PRO for any dual cpu/win2000 combo. EXTREMLY EFFECTIVE.

Has anyone been able to get a mad catz PANTHER XL game controller to work under win 2K? I installed the driver from the CD-ROM but id does not show up in the game controllers section of the control panel. thanks
