Thing is, while we have lost to Nebraska the past nine years (), the TOTAL point deficit of all those games is only 15 points. Every year, we come so close to beating them... it's frustrating to have it snatched away. They really are our biggest rival, and while they might not consider us rivals, we are usually one of the only teams that comes that close to beating them. And we've got one of our best teams in a long time this year, so my fingers are crossed edit: those 15 points are actually only in the last five games, but that's still a really close spread!

Sorry man, I'd like to help, but I don't have this game. If anyone had a solution for you I'm sure they would have posted it...

yes to the first question... WinXP Pro supports users/domains/workgroups. It only acts as a workstation though, so while it can join a domain, it can't be a domain controller. On the other hand, WinXP Home can only do users/workgroups (no joining a domain). I'm not sure about your other question, but for stuff like that you would probably be better off with Win2k Server.

From your list, I have successfully played NFS:PU, NOLF, Max Payne, Red Faction, and Soldier of Fortune....

Homesite (for direct coding) and Dreamweaver (for WYSIWYG)

The problem is that to write drivers for hardware, you need to have very explicit knowledge of how that particular hardware works. So if you did not make the hardware, and you do not have specifications for interfacing with the hardware, then you're not gonna get very far trying to write drivers. I suppose one could disassemble the Win9x drivers to figure out how it works, and then emulate that behavior under the NT driver model, but this would be a very pain-staking process. So, unless someone else has the same hardware, and a LOT of free time, you're probably gonna be out of luck. Now, that said, I see that there are NT4 drivers for that hardware.... you might get away with using those. Your best bet, though, will be to just get a new sound card and modem.

right-click 'My Computer' and go to 'Manage'. Browse to 'Storage->Disk Management'. Right-click on the drive and choose 'Change Drive Letter and Path...'

I think you have to get Style XP for those to work (www.tgtsoft.com)

Yes, I had the exact same problem... it was a hardware issue. However, I think those have a lifetime warranty, so get ahold of MS and get them to send you a new one. They sent me a replacement, without even having to ship the bad one back.... I might have to try cracking open that bad one and see if I can get it working though.....

Open the "Administrative Tools" and go to "Local Security Policy." Browse to "Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment." There is a setting for "Deny logon locally"; make sure guest is listed there. I think it already is by default, but you can check anyway...

cool thanks - and actually, the file's readme had the website for it (http://www.radfiles.com/xp_logonui/) which has a newer version...

"The requested URL was not found on this server." got an updated link, perhaps?

1. I still stick with ACDSee 2. I assume you mean in internet explorer? Under IE, go to 'Tools=>Internet Options'. Go to the 'Advanced' tab. Under 'Multimedia' there is an option for 'Enable Image Toolbar'.... you're gonna want to uncheck that. 3. what tsonta101 said... 4. I'm not sure.... I'm not at home right now, so i'll have to check later...

just one more thing I can think of.... did you install the latest update for the game?

I don't know what to think here.... it always worked fine for me. However, I didn't really like the OpenGL mode. It looked good, and the frame rate was fine, but there was a slight delay with some things, like moving items around in the inventory. It would take a second to change the cursor to the picture of the item. I manipulate the inventory a lot, so this got annoying enough for me not to use OpenGL. It's not just BG2 either.... the OpenGL mode of Icewind Dale did the same thing. It might be that my video card only has 32mb of memory though. Anyways, to fix your problem, start with the basics. Try putting it all the way down to 640x480x16bit. If that works, then slowly crank up the resolution/color depth to see if you can find where the problem is.

maybe you could try writing a script to load each of those one at a time, instead of letting windows load them automatically...
-
Here's some for you - http://www.zophar.net/joy.html I haven't tried any of them, so please do share your experiences with them....

Yes BG2 is much better than the original, but there are a lot of similarities, so if you really thought BG sucked, BG2 probably won't change your mind...

I don't see anything in your specs that would be problematic, but here's my specs just in case... I'm running XP 2600.... it was a fresh install at RC1, then upgraded to each build after that. BG2, TOB, and latest update Asus V7700 Geforce2 GTS (21.81) SB Live! Value (5.1.2601.0, from the windows update) Aopen AX6BC Pro Gold (Intel 440BX) Intel P3 700MHz 384 MB PC133 RAM

Well, since it sounds like you pretty much know what you want, I would recommend going to www.pricewatch.com and www.shopper.com to do some price comparisons....
