March 99? i think not.... -
No way I was gonna type that by hand.... that list is cut-and-paste from Merriam-Webster
-
that's pointless.... win2k won't use the swap space until you are out of physical memory anyway....
-
kamikandi, be aware that the moderators don't tolerate anything to do with ***** on this board, so we can't tell you where to get a copy.... look around, though, and I'm sure you'll find it... edit: that censored word is the evil "w" word 8) [This message has been edited by CUViper (edited 07 January 2001).]

go to the display properties to the screen saver tab, and just check the "p***word protected" box.
-
this is the wrong board to be asking about stuff like that.... better take that question elsewhere
-
yes, but it will be "underclocked". e.g. a 1 GHz CPU (7.5*133) will only run at 750 MHz on a 100 MHz bus....
-
I'm not getting great framerates, but it's definitely better than that! How do you show fps?
-
if your have a legit cd and registered it, you might be able to get help from MS. But no, you're not gonna find it anywhere on your system.
-
have you tried deleting gimme.dll? that fixed it in every case i've seen....
-
there are two setup files on the cd: setup.exe and _setup.exe. setup.exe is the one that checks the os version for compatibility, so don't run it. _setup.exe is the one that does the actual installation, so you should run that directly. of course, this is on the US version, but I imagine it's the same or similar on the German version....
-
Since you haven't said WHAT problem you're having, I'll tell you what works for me.... just run _setup.exe off the cd to install. If it doesn't detect enough drive space, then use the 2GB fix in apcompat.exe on the _setup.exe If you've already done that, then please be more specific as to what problem you're having....
-
heh... that happened to me once too.... confusing as hell the first time you see it.... 8)
-
This article on AnandTech has some benchmark comparisons on an Athlon 1GHz..... their geforce ddr only pulled in 71.1 fps at 1024x768x32, so I'd say you're doing well

this is more of a peeve than a bug.... the smiley images do not have an alignment setting in their tags, which leaves them at the browser default. in IE, they align with the text at the bottom, which doesn't look so good. try putting a smiley in parentheses and you'll see what i mean ( ). it would look much better if you added an align="absmiddle" in the image tag... no biggie, just preference
-
while i'm sure you can change it in the registry, it is also a setting in the control panel. open the "Users and P***words" control panel, go to the advanced tab, et voila!
-
it wouldn't suck as much as locking up all the time.... it may also be that you're just overclocking too much. if the lockups disappear when you "underclock" (when run your processors at spec ), then you can try gradually increasing it again. you just gotta find that overclocking sweet spot....
-
we'll never break the sound-barrier either.... oh wait....

on the main page, the times of the last posts don't have the proper minutes

The link DosFreak provided will help you make a bootdisk. In win2k, there is no direct way to make a bootdisk, as win2k does not have dos underneath....

if you've got the bucks, nothing can beat a GeForce2 Ultra...
