I just got my hands on this yesterday and so far i'm loving it. Some nice features over Trillian free, and awesome visual improvements (never thought Trillian could be visually enhanced so much) over Trillain free as well. The plugins are awesome, and I would reocmmend to anyone who is currently using Trillian 0.x to upgrade to 1.0. It's totally worth the $25, no questions asked.

Thank you so much, I'm gonna go try it out (will report back with results)!

Dude, I'm under Windows Me (9x kernel) not Windows 2000. I don't think a uninstaller exists for the 9x version (what a shame), I've checked the original install cab thoroughly for one. So is there any other way to savely remove DX8 for now?

euankirkhope - I am sure I won't get that message, as I am always running the newest build. See, I get my newer builds at http://www.betaplace.com Xiven - I hope so... what does the icon look like, and are you absolutly positive that it is there, even on the 9x version of DX8? Thanks guys,

Nope, I can't find that file anywhere... I also tried simply reinstlling DX7a, but it tells me a newer version is installed. Is there any other way to uninstall DX8b2? Thanks,
-
No see, this is a technology test, and the company (Lithtech) has even confirmed that people running DX8 will experience slowdowns, as they have not been etsting it with DX8 yet. So I KNOW that it's a problem with DX8. Anyways, I am running Windows Me (not 2000), so I hope that file is located in my /WINDOWS/ dir (yes?). Thanks,

I am currently running DirectX 8.0 beta2... and recently downloaded the NOLF demo. I've noticed that performance is extremely crappy on DX8 (using TNT2Ultra), as this is only a technology test. Anyway, is it safe if I just reinstall DX7a? I am not sure if I wanna risk everything simply because of a game, please let me know soon! Thanks,

Me three! I'll be getting DSL, and the modem on wednesday, and I'll need to drivers by then! Anyone?

Yup, that would explain that weird message I got yesterday at the LAN party when I wanted to host a game of CS. Ah well, not such a big deal. Although, you could always make a dual-boot system, and let one of you with Win98 to host and play, while the other one joins with Win2000. That seems like the only possible sollution right now.

I've tried it all. 16bit desktop + 16bit game. 16bit desktop + 32bit game. 32bit desktop + 16bit game. 32bit desktop + 32bit game. Everything, and none of them work.

Anyone else getting sound distortion in UT with Dell's drivers? Didn't happen with the Basic drivers, nor Live!Ware 3.0, but with Dell's drivers it does. Makes the game almost unplayable. Any ideas?
-
Yup, same thing for me. I'm using a TNT2Ultra, with also the latest drivers provided by nVidia. I get access violations all the time, and also the "map" on the left bottom, "reflects" the rays up to the screen. It's hard to explain, so lets just say the 3D maps is not displayed correctly either. I really want to be able to play this game. Lets hope something is done about this soon!

Yup I read the post by the guy in the Creative NG. I did try that, and it worked. I will type the whole thing out in more detail (clean reading fun ), and of course give him credit! Tahnks to all,

That's the other problem... I am not sure, I've performed the LW3 installation a million times on this box, but am not sure if I did it with this particular installation. Isn't there some kind of fix for the LW3 traces? I guess I'll wait another week to see if any fixes come up, and otherwise I'll reinstall when I get my CD from MS.
