Oh well, it sounded a good idea. But exactly the same problem, and exactly the same error messages All upto Sierra now methinks Regards

Ok. I'm running the game as Administrator. My CD-Rom ain't a Kenwood, I've downloaded the latest Via stuff, installed that - no luck. Tried that fixed .exe, that didn't work. So at the moment, I'm waiting on Sierra to get back to me. Hopefully they'll know what it is. Regards
-
I've already tried that, well, not the latest 1.0.1.1. Not sure how a "fixed .exe" will sort my problems out, but I'll give it a go. Regards

I just installed IIS, so I could fiddle around with webservers and the like. On startup, however, in the event log I get these messages; The server was unable to register the administration tool discovery information. The administration tool may not be able to see this server. The data is the error code. For additional information specific to this message please visit the Microsoft Online Support site located at: http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp. This comes up on 3 events, namely W3SVC, SMTPSVC and MSFTPSVC. Does anyone know what this means? - and if it will affect how it works?? -Ex-

With these new drivers, I did have one problem on first boot-up after when my mouse/keyboard refused to work - but it's been perfectly fine since....and games just rock with the new drivers. -Ex-
-
I've been tempted to download it, but I'd say if people like it now (and seeing screenies I can see why( - imagine what it will be like at RTM. I love Win2k (now with SP1) - and equally can't wait for Whistler...it will surely get much better -Ex-
-
Nope - I installed LW3 and it worked perfectly - nice lil Thunder sound on boot-up as well. Although I changed that to my standard THX movie sound, much MUCH better -Ex-

Ahh, I hadn't gotten that far. My Ground Control crashed when I tried to start it up -Ex-

Ground Control crashes on my Win2k box as well, I tried posting here but no-one could help it seemed. Sierra help were totally useless - what errors are you getting?? -Ex-

Not sure what the hell he's on about I install Norton 2001 Beta, and it works fine - admittedly it doesn't like uninstalling, and trying to install Norton 2000 after a supposed uninstall of Norton 2001 leaves Norton 2000 looking like Norton 2001 (try it, you'll see what I mean) In any event, I'm waiting for Win2k SP1, then I'm reformatting and going back to Norton 2000 -Ex-

I read the compatiblity thing and saw that Ground Control apparently worked fine in Win2k, and as I wanted to buy it I went ahead. Installed it, said no to install Dx7a and tried to run it, well, it came up with an error message - and crashed in a big way and ate up memory like no-ones business, I don't get it Any ideas? -Ex-

It'll surprise me a great deal if it's released tonight, as opposed to next week....this is Creative after all. Then again, it'd be nice if they did actually get them out for once -Ex-

Unfortunately, I don't know. I do know, however, that Unreal Tourny doesn't like Windows 2000 at all. It runs incredibly sluggish on my Athlon 700, 64mb GeForce 2 GTS comp....which I suppose is why I prefer Q3 at the moment. -Ex-

It's not out yet, there was a small thing about it being out a few days ago but not all the bits were uploaded. Should be out soon, though. -Ex-

HUGE flicker problem. GeForce/Win2K Server/5.3 Drivers..

I think this was a known problem, which disabling the mouse shadow "should" fix, so hopefully that'll do the trick. If not, well....pass. -Ex- -
Yeah, I've tried either trying to install the DX7 drivers or say "no" to the install...after the install it still crashes on startup, either before or after the patch -Ex-
-
Anyone? - I've tried selecting the install Dx7a option, but it doesn't look like it actually installs anything. Patching it to 1008 and still the same error. A Dialogue box comes up titled D3DX Error with "DDERR_GENERIC" in it. I've checked the Ground Control forums on Sierras site, knowledge base, etc, etc. Sent a mail to tech support to get the usual "Win2k aint for games" rubbish. (which I do know, to pre-empt smart-ass replies here ) Really want to get this working -Ex-

Well, who knows. If Creative pull their fingers out we may even have a LiveWare! 3 for Win2k sometime soon which will hopefully improve the performace a fair bit. Then again, this "is" Creative we're talking about ;( -Ex-

Well, I've had this problem for ages as well...although I only have one Dimm so not too sure on brands matching. Clean installs...I've tried that as well, to no avail. It may just be a continuation of those good ole Athlon/GeForce chipset problems with older Athlon mobos, but given the fact the newer mobos all have problems of one sort or another (my Abit KA7 didnt like my memory, couldnt afford anymore so off that went back), I haven't been able to actually try a aystem for a while on one. Shame really, Win2k is rock solid in every other aspect. -Ex-
-
Well, I'm just about to install these 5.25 drivers, so I hope I don't have any of these problems...I've only just got my system back to normal after formatting ;( -Ex-
-
I also get these crashes in OpenGL games, even an OpenGL screensaver fell over, so I'd also be interested to see if anyone knows the cause. -Ex- Athlon 700Mhz 256mb PC133 SDRAM SbLive! Platinum 3d Prophet 64mb DDR

As far as I'm aware, the only version currently available is the Win9x version. Although that's not to say the Win2k version won't be following shortly, it usually seems to -Ex-

Topic says it all, really - go here; http://ftp.ctlsg.creaf.com/files/creative/drivers/dvd/dvdr3-beta.zip They're just over 5.5mb - I'm downloading them now but won't be able to try them out till tonight at least. -Ex-

Does anyone have any luck with Region Changing software with these drivers? I usually use RemSelect 1.74 from VisualDomain.net, which lets me choose any region before firing the player up. But with these new drivers the region tabs are grayed out....are there any other pieces of software that do the same, but work with these new drivers? -Ex-
