Same here - I have an Athlon 700 machine with the DDR GeFoce and version 3.78 drivers - I dont get random lock ups as much as I used to (except for today when it went quite insane at one point) but they're still sooooooooooo annoying - never seems to happen in games, just on desktop, can be doing anything - surfing, IRC - anything Exorcist

It's not unstable, I've been using 2195 for almost a month, and the only things which have gone wrong are from using beta drivers, something which on an unreleased OS I'l prepared to take, until proper drivers are released (hurry up Creative) - and all I get are random lock-ups (dont even get those anywhere near as much since I upgraded to 3.76) My Creative Blaster control thing for my GeForce doesn't work, everything else is fine - and can only improve with proper drivers. All the games (Q3, UT, HL and OpFor) I play work perfectly, so I'm more than happy, in any event no OS is perfect, so don't whinge Exorcist

Creative have no official Win2k drivers at this time (as far as I know) Try the downloads section, sure there's something in there on how to get Liveware 3 working under Win2k - works ok on my PC even if it is immensely fiddley, doesnt seem to work on everyones though. Exorcist

Well - after speaking to a friend - I'm holding out a little hope that when Live!Ware4 is released it will have Win2k support, not sure how misplaced that is though Oh well - soon see. Exorcist

Looks like I expected to much from Creative - they take ages over releasing drivers (end of feb - march) and then release crap, out-of-date drivers for it. Think I'll stick with my Liveware 3 mixture thingy Exorcist

Nope - done that, reinstalled the software and set the HPsetreg or whatever it was to the disk region. Exactly the same message. Think I'll wait for Creative drivers if they pull their fingers out. Exorcist

Sorry to shatter this little illusion - but I followed that "to the letter" and it still doesn't work. I stick a DVD in, start up DVD station and get a message saying "IMPEG32.DLL - EEPROM tampered - contact your reseller" - and ejects the disk. Just goes to show nothing works for everyone. Exorcist

Know what ya mean - random lock-ups seem to have been a permanent feature in the months since I installed Win2k - totally random and never in-game. Oh well, mebbe soon it'll be sorted if it's driver related Exorcist

Sounds ok Only it doesn't work on a large number of peoples machines, mine included. So if you don't mind, I'll wait for proper Creative drivers - it's upto them to pull their finger out and do something, or they'll get people going elsewhere. Exorcist

Yup, the soldier of fortune demo works fine. Again though, it looks much better with these drivers....they're cool Exorcist

Not too sure about random lock-ups, don't think I've had any yet. That said, in-game performance seems to be much improved - with the Q3 maps seeming to look much better, and I'm not sure why as the settings are the same Exorcist

The Athlon needs a specific power supply capable of providing over 230-250 watts I think, is it an Athlon approved PSU? Ewps - so I was half-asleep and not noticed the sig - I presume Enlights are Athlon approved cos I have one of those myself Soz - can't think of anything else. The closer to actual Win2k retail date the better as well! Got a few Creative bits and pieces (DVD drive which refuses to work is the main thing) Exorcist

I know this was here a while ago..but still. Anyone know how to get the DVD 6x Encore working under 2k? - I downloaded the Hollywood Plus Drivers for the Dxr3 - and installed the latest Creative player software. It works ok - but the sound is stuttery as hell ;( - and if I close it down, it shudders to a halt and messes up..... Any ideas? - Ive heard about DMA but I aint sure how to change it...its an Athlon 700 system on an Asus K7M mobo. :E Exorcist

Ahh - the only thing I'd missed was the NT4 drivers, which ones are those on the creative site ??? Just not sure Roll on proper, official drivers tho Exorcist

Anyone know why Win2k would just stop dead, mouse won't move - ctrl-alt-del won't work, it requires a restart.. Can't see if it's a particular program causing it, as it comes and goes - doesnt come up with any error messages - just stops Anyone? Exorcist

To change your Start menu, it's; Start -> Settings -> Taskbar & Start Menu -> Uncheck "Use Personalised Menus". In IE it's; Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Uncheck "Enable Personal Favourites Menu". Hope this helps... Exorcist
