I have tried pretty well every build of IE 6 in my Win2k pro with and without the two updates. Everytime I install IE6 I get Windows Explorer crashing anytime I go to it either through the desktop or the program menus. After the crash, explorer comes back and everything works fine....hmmm anyone have this happen to them? Anyone know why???

What is the maximum memory that windows NT or 98 can see?

Sorry for not remembering where I got the game, its at home and I am at work but there is a Hearts game that states it will work in W2k, IT DOESN"T. After installing it, my machine just rebooted, over and over, even when trying to get into safe mode. Another format and reinstall. Thought I should warn y'all.

Actually Yes I have, how did you know? hehe I have Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.0 and I have PSXcopy 5.1 in my puter. Could one of these be cause of error I get?

Otay, here is the actual error i get when trying for Hibernation in Windows 2k: 'The device driver for the "Generic Volume" device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver.' Uh, what driver? the problem persists. Preciate any assistance anyone can provide.

Otay, I know this is probably very simple, but I have consulted help and everything to find the answer to no avail. How do I get win2k to show my entire start menu, my entire faves etc instead of having to click that little arrow to expose those I haven't used much? I know there is a simple way, I just haven't found it YET.

I got mine to disable through PSXcopy. After selecting it to disable the autoinsert, I did have to reboot but it is off now! Check settings in burner software to see if it will turn that off. No problems other than I need to always find setup.exe hehehehe

I used to have the Ensonique sound card in my puter. Didn't like the way it sounded in Win2k as it crackled. Tried all sorts of driver updates. Replaced with XWAVE card from Yamaha and that ROCKS! Now though, when I try Hibernation, I get message that the generic driver for Volume is preventing my going into hibernation. Anyone got ideas which darn driver this is? tells me to reinstall the thing. Sounds like the Drivers for the Ensonique NT install corrupted something. I hate generic messages hehehe HELP please

My experience with tech support work, is that any kind of software flow modem will have trouble in NT period. If it is any win modem or hsp software modem. My suggestion is to go and get a good Hardware modem for your puter.
