Hi, I was just reading on Via Tech that whistler 2419 supports ide busmaster drivers for via out of box. Now my question is that. I never installed any ide busmaster drivers from via. I only installed via agp 404. My computer works perfeclty and there is nothing wrong in Device Manager settings. The Primary HD is working in Ultra DMA Mode. Now do I need those drivers. Will they make the performance better. How can I check if I need thos drivers? ARC

Well, This can happen if you have a pirated version of office and you install SR1 or any other updates... It will check you product key and if your product key matches with microsoft pirated key database, it would make your office like that. ARC

According to Nvidia Official: They have not made any 7 series drivers. They are all made by some ediots. Currently the drivers are in 6.xx series. I recommend that you use official nvidia drivers until their next official release. I have tried almost all drivers but no one is as stable as 6.31. The 6.66 is really optimized. My scores in Windows 2000 beats my score of Win98. I usually got 2500-2600 3D MARKS but it gave me a boost of 800 points. I went to 3300. ARC

Go to C:\ Unhide all files... Open boot.ini and remove the line of the other OS. Save it. Go to System Properties>Advanced>Startup & Recovery Uncheck, Display a List of OS @ startup. ARC

Yes, It wont affect Windows 2000 boot menu, it will add Windows 98 to the menu. If something weird happens, you will only boot into Windows 98. To go back in 2000, you just have to edit the boot.ini and change the Default Operating System to Windows 2000. ARC

Hi, I tried to use MSN Explorer. It installs fine but when I tried to sign in, it starts reading my hard drive really hard for 30 secs. After that it signs in properly. Why is that so. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but didn't help. What can I do? Please help. ARC

Well I can understand all that. But is there a way to turn that off. It takes more than 40 secs to log on. Just because of that, I deframented my HD but still. Thanks everyone for replying. Now is there a way to turn that off? ARC

Hi, System Spec: PIII 450 128 RAM Geforce 2 MX VIA 2X AGP Windows 2000 Everytime I try to run NHL 2001, it crashes back to the desktop while loading the game. Similar sort of stuff with Fifa 2001 Demo.It loads and I can actually play but after a minute or so, it also crashes back to the desktop. Please help me. I have got all the latest patches including MS/VIA patch. Please help me. Thanks

Hi, I messed up setting in the services and stopped and disabled too many services, after a reboot, I have no sound, and the computer became very slow. Now when I try to enable any of the disabled services, I cannot enable the service. It says either says: -cannot start plug and play when i try to start plug and play it doesnt start -depends on another service tried to run or play all other services Please help me ARC

I just tried them out, Acutally they are great in gaming only. I tested them on 3d Mark and the differnce is very big. I have a PIII 450 w/ Geforce 2 MX. I usually get around 2400-2600, but this time i got 3278. It was very nice. But I wont recommend it to any once since i reverted back to the original 6.31. Why? The mouse becomes jerky on times. There is dos screen with a cursor blinking before 3d graphics start. ARC

Hi, I need your help. I am going to buy a new system. I already have a PIII 450 with a Asus V7100 Geforce MX 32 MB. I am considering the following: Athlon 1GHz Asus A7V Geforce 2 MX (16 MB) 30 GB Maxtor ATA 100 (7200 RPM) 256 MB SDRAM I will move the 32 MB Card to the new one and the 16MB to the old one. Now I have the following questions? 1. Is AMD good? I have built three AMD systems for my friends with Asus A7V. There are problems as I have seen. Too many fixes to apply to get Windows 2000 to work. 2. How much difference is between the acceleration of Geforce MX 32 and 16 MB card. Is Voodoo 3 3000 better than the 16 MB card? Would it provide a better acceleartion? 3.I noticed that as soon as I install SP1 on the above system (my friend's), the computer doesn't boot, giving the error, INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE?It has something to do with the HD. Does the latest bios by Asus fixes the problems? 4. If Geforce MX 16MB is better than V3 3000, is there a cheaper version, other than to buy from Asus? I hope to see a reply soon. ARC

Hi Guys, I am planning on buying a new system and today saw that Abit released KT7A-R with KT133A chipset. I read the review for the chipset and found it pretty impressive. It falls between AMD760 and Asus A7V system. Now my question is, when is asus going to release its A7V133(based on KT133A) and when is AMD going to release 1GHz 266FSB. I am planning to use these instead of A7V and 1GHz 200FSB. Any Ideas? ARC
