Thanks Brain for replying. I have searched the web for some including Panasonic, Toshiba, Hitachi and Pioneer, all of them under $1000 with a write speed of 2x. Hi, I know this problem. It happened to me also. More on this is that, if you have a gif or jpg file on your desktop, it will take a minute to open, if it is somewhere else it will open immedialtely. This is very strange. I had the window for more than a year so I thought it was very old and therefore something might be corrupt. Couldn't find anything. Sorry. ARC

Hi Guys, I have HP 8100+ and wanted to upgrade its firmware. I have lost the original CD. How can I upgrade it, since the setup asks for a Surestore CD DRive. Anybody. ARC

I believe it doesnt recognize it as a CDR/RW I checked the properties and it says "Standard CDROM" though the device name is HP CD-Writer+ 8100 If anybody has this driver, please reply and let me know. Thanks. ARC
