?? Windows 2000 included the VIAGART. You install the 4-in-1's to update it...just like in XP. In Windows 2000/XP depending on your mobo it's common practice to ONLY install the AGP driver. Although the AGP/busmaster has different results on different mobo's.

You can set the priority of IDE/IDE RAID boot options in the BIOS of your mobo. You can modify each boot.ini on the IDE/RAID HD's to point to the other but to boot from 1 or the other you'll have to go into the bios.

Hmmmmm, Sounds like NT boots up and looks for a network to connect to but is unable to initialize your NIC. When unable to find an address it specifies a private range at 169.x.x.x . Look for updated USB drivers for your mobo and also look into hardcoding your IP's as much as possible.

and don't use the Whistler Compat Toolkit from freedrive in 2k. For that matter don't use it at all. It's based off of Whistler Beta 2. It won't mess up your system but it's easier just not to mess with it. Just use the App Kit 1.5 for 2k and the Whistler Beta 2 Kit from MS. The Whistler Kit from Freedrive was based off of 2k & Beta 2 a month or so before the Whistler Beta 2 Kit came out.

Yes NT sees the errors on the discs and freaks out. Only solution besides the one posted above are cracks. Hopefully companies will me more alert once XP comes out.

Some of you may be running into the POS Safedisc protection. A fix was released last month not sure how well it works tho: http://www.macrovision.com/solutions/software/fix.php3 If you get errors in your event log when running a game with Safedisc protection try this patch. Sigh. The trials of getting games to work due to sloth & greed.

The .exe may be a self-extracting image. You may experience problems extracting the files onto NT formated FAT disks because for some reason I've noticed that sometimes NT doesn't place a boot sector on the floppies. I've had to make images of my floppies and then made them self-extracting. Now all I have to do is click .exe insert a floppy and away I go.

Remedy found out about the situation after the game release. ;( They have finally got a machine with the same problem and are working on it. Geesh. This crap pisses me off. This is Numero Uno on my reason to *****.

Longhorn will not be out until 2003. Blackcomb will be out after that. Plenty of time for SP's for XP. At least one or 2 before the next MS OS. Also if 2K runs perfectly on your system then it's exttremely likely that so will XP. (I'm not talking about any gripes you may have with XP..just that XP is 2K and as such will run the same/better because it's more updated).
