The latest official Directx ver is 8.0a The latest leaked ver is Directx ver 8.1 Build 648 I doubt upgrading to a newer DX ver will solve your prob tho because Warzone 2100 is not a DX 8 game but whatheheck give it a shot. Couldn't hurt.

I dunno. It's look kinda weird. Like it's unfinished or something.

Not j00. The TopicStarter.

If your sticking with 64m of ram go back to 9x. NOW.

I'm using the latest beta bios with the latest hacked beta highpoint bios (geesh you definetly don't wanna hear that when talking about bios's! ) with the latest highpoint drivers. No problems on me RAID.
-
NT doesn't have to use the bios to detect devices. You can emable your drive in the bios but your boot time will slowdown.

Hmmmm. The demo works perfectly here. Tried it last night. Runs great. Sigh, Somethings wrong with your config.

Have you tried the Application Compatibility Toolkit 1.5: http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/defa...ompositedoc.xml or APCOMPAT from the Windows 2000 CD? I do not have the game (just the demo) so I haven't experienced this issue.

What Nvidia drivers have you tried? 14.20 are the lastest but I do not know how good they are with the TNT/2
-
Have you installed the 2.00.42 patch? ftp://ftp.uni-oldenburg.de/games/ftp.patches-scrolls.de/pub/pc-patches/general-patches/mtm2p242.zip

For now forget about using the XP Compatibility toolkit in 2K. The 2000 1.5 App kit has all of the fixes that the XP Compatibility toolkit does. XP MIGHT have a few more game fixes right now (It definetly will have more on retail release) but anyways if you can't fix your games using the Windows 2000 1.5 App Kit then just give up for now. Ok as far as Warzone 2100 is concerned....I made a Windows 2000 Game Demo Compatibility list which includes 800+ games. I checked that when I went home and noticed that Warzone 2100 worked fine. I know that if I put it in there that it works but I will check it again when I go home (I compiled that list like 3 months ago.). It's highly likely tho that it is your video card. Can you borrow a newer video card to test it out? If your planning on gamming in Windows 2000 anyways you might as well fork out the money and get a GF2/3/Radeon/Kyro. Nvidia has the best 2000 drivers at the moment but the TNT hasn't been the focus in Nvidia's drivers for a loooonnngg time.

Don't worry about. Just because Norton Windoctor say's that it is a problem doesn't mean that is is. Norton Windoctor just scanned your registry and then tried to find the file that went with the registry entry. The registry entry is most likely invalid if the program works anyway. I wouldn't use Norton Windoctor anyway. It's vast inferior to the freeware programs at www.tweakfiles.com

I have updated my Windows 2000 Game Compatibility list. 305 games work in Windows 2000. 24 games do not work in Windows 2000. Refer to the first post in this thread to see the difference! (and no XP has nothing to do with these games working!) If you want the list ask for it at d0sfreak@yahoo.com! I will be adding the results to the NTCompatible Game list shortly.

Snapper, No. Upping is fine as long as you PM the person and don't post links on the board. Unfortuantely I only have net access at work so I cannot offer FTP. I've been looking around on the net for the game but I haven't seen it. intim, XP really will not be that different from 2k as far as games running on it goes. BUT the big difference will be that game companies will start supporting the games more. So as soon as companies start patching their games for XP you can be sure that they will work on 2k. Also if a game only works in XP and does not work in 2K you can be sure that there is a way to easily get it to work in 2K.

Same problems. XP just improves the compatibility method. Currently different .dll files are used to redirect or emulate different functions. For instance a new one added to the Application Compatibility Kit 1.5 for Windows 2000 is the "Emulate Opengl" tab. This tab emulates some basic OGL functions because 2000/XP do not ship with OGL drivers. The thing is this tab say's it's for only one game: Quake. Now you'll likely see alot of people trying to get their OGL games working when they haven't even downloaded the darn drivers! LOL! That sort of thing. So XP and any OS after unless it offers real emulation software (ala Connectix Virtual PC: http://www.connectix.com/products/ THIS PRODUCT IS GREAT!) will never be fully compatible with all of your software. I believe 1.5 for Windows 2000 is most likely the last APP Compat toolkit for Windows 2000. The App Compat in Whistler is vers 2.0 (only difference between 1.5 is the ability to save Compat files for both 2000 & XP and a few other tools included in the OS). I wonder what MS will do once the x86 has evolved to some other form and isn't backwards compatible? Hopefully they will release some type of emulation software but I don't see any signs of them doing so. Heck, the fact that they are using these Application Compatibility hacks instead of emulation makes me wonder.

Quote: I played NOLF just the other day with the update and all, crack from www.gamecopyworld.com Game played flawless and nice and fast(unlike in win2k) I could actually play the game at 1280x1024 @ 32b color and it wasn't the slug that it was in win2k. Try reinstalling the game. *DosFreak shakes head.

Well I went home and found out that I didn't have Warzone 2000. Only Warzone 2100 which worked fine. Do you know of anyone else who has the game that it works fine for?
-
Could be video drivers or a game incompatibility. I'lload up the demo tonight since I don't have the full game and give it a try.
-
Quote: Does it make any difference if you run the games in compatibility mode? Sigh. I can see it now. People are gonna think compatibility mode will fix most or all of their problems when it won't. Then they'll get when it doesn't do what it's supposed to.....when it has nothing to do with the prob. ;(

It looks just like Half-Life except with new levels. ;(

Go here: www.windowsupdate.com and download the latest Application Compatibility patch

Only way I got C&C to work in NT is by using Connetix Virtual PC.
