Please please please just reformat your system and install ME. Please. If you want to do a dual-boot then install ME and then install Whistler/Windows 2000.

2000 drivers. You can only use 9x drivers if they are WDM. So ONLY use 9x drivers if the download page states so.

No. Nothing changes. You will noticed a MAJOR difference in speed because of the extra ram tho.

There will be a SIGNIFICANT decrease in load times in games jumping from 128 to 256. I went from 128 to 512 and Unreal Tournament starts up in like 0 seconds now. (Ok, not that fast. Mabye 2 secs )

1. Insert 2000 CD. 2. Delete & Format partition.

My Pioneer 16x works fine with my DXR3 with standard Windows 2000 drivers on my dual P3700 on my VP6. I did have to enable DMA tho. Installing the VIA drivers REALLY messed up my DVD and CDR.

Some CDROMS/DVDS are DMA/33 so if you set your CDROM to PIO4 then your HD will transfer at PIO4 if on the same chain. DO NOT use the VIA Busmaster drivers. Use default Windows 2000 drivers. They work just fine.

Feb. 6 month release cycle for SP's. Which obviously doesn't apply to NT4 since it's been since AUGUST of '99 since SP6a!!!!!

It's in RC. I have RC 2.5. It's pretty good. I just wish they would release SP7 for NT4. Stupid idiots.

Never set an application to Real Time. Real Time is for I/O devices. Keyboard/Mouse/Drivers etc....

Hmm, well this is NOT a common occurence. I have installed 2000 on P200's/Dell P3450's/K6's/and Dual Proc computers. ALL with good power supplys. Something's wrong with your systems. It's not a 2000 prob.

Speedisk is the best. Not an opinion. FACT. Been using it since DOS days and I have used many other defraggers. Speedisk is king.

DO NOT convert to NTFS. onverting is very very bad. Unless of course you like using 512b cluster. Sloooooowwww

Wrong. Windows 2000 pages out least used data in memory. Kernel data is automatically paged unless specified otherwise. Even then it' still paged. Windows 2000 ALWAYS uses the page file no matter how much physical memory you have.
