Turn off that restore crap.

Yep, your games run in the foreground.

If you download the Application Compatibility Toolkit it has a registry fix (same fix that Whistler has) that will be installed upon install. You won't receive and error upon installs NFS HS anymore.

yeah, I saw the quote on the first page and right-away knew it was a pos (the review). Didn't even go to the site.....too afraid I'd lose a couple of IQ points.

Games's don't access the HD that match so the format doesn't really matter. If you dual-boot any have no security or data integrity concerns use FAT32. If you want your stuff to be safe & secure use NTFS. I only use NTFS on my gaming machine and it's perfect. Also CD's are a uniform format. No need to worry about it. What you burn in NT can be read in 9x and vice versa.

heh. I can imagine home users now with unreliable CDRW's. Where'd my files go? But I burned them? I backed up all my important stuff on there!!!! heheheheheh

MechWarrior4 tells me I need to install DX8, but it's instal
DosFreak replied to dodgeviperrt10's topic in Hardware
I haven't tried to install M4 on Whistler but it's highly likely that it's trying to install a 9x Directx 8 and it's unable to see your NT DX8. There should be an option where you can unselect installing Directx. -
CLK/3=SX/DX16,DX20,DX25,DX2/50,DX4/100 CLK/4=SX/DX33,DX266,DX3/99 CLK/5=DX40,DX2/80 CLK/6=DX50,DX2/100 CLK=half speed of processor /x=divider ex: If I have a 486DX4/100 then my settings would be: CLK/3 Reason: CLK=33X3=99mhz

There is not a difference in performance in ACPI or Standard. Both are the same performancewise unless your mobo does not support ACPI properly. If it does not then your system will perform improperly with ACPI.

Cisco is the Internet. Cisco is the company that produces most of the hardware that interconnects all of the computers in the world. A Cisco router is just like any other router except that it is made by Cisco and you can be sure that it is of higher quality than any other.

Download this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/compatibility/ It makes ALOT more woftware compatibile with Windows 2000 on install. Also it includes tools to help you to get software to work by tricking them (much more advanced than APCOMPAT). Choose each option 1 by one tho.

Yep, that could easily write an app that chews up however much ram they choose and then hide it in a service somewhere.

Well this can thread can degenerate into useless garbage posts (at which you seem to excel) or it can actually be an informative read to the people of this board. Which shall it be? (It looks to me like you posted the last post because I have gone way over your head and you've got nothing left to back you up. Prove me wrong.)

Who are you talking to jdulmage? Me? It must be me I guess because I'm the only one who responded to your post. pr-man posted his thoughts on Whistler and you immediately and bashed him because someone said something bad about "your" os. Since when did this post become fictional? I've responded honestly and truthfully to every post so far so I guess the fictional part of the postage would have to be coming from someone other than pr-man and me. Hmmmm, I wonder who that could be? Jdulmage it's a good thing you aren't on the Ars forums because you wouldn't last 5 seconds on the Batttlefront with your crap.
