I saw a link on here: http://betatester.tin.it/en/index.htm awhile back. There may also be a link I posted previously in this forum if you use the search feature. *DosFreak sheds a tear. NT is losing it's stableness as it goes more and more mainstream..... ------------------ C:\Dos C:\Dos\Run \Run\Dos\Run

The Adaptec 4.0 CD I received with my HP 9100 8X4X32 comes with NT5 compatible versions. I could email those to ya....

"That looks like ****." Each of us has our own preferences as to how our desktop looks. I don't like my desktop to look all pretty. It's a desktop. That's what it does. I don't like wallpaper, pretty color, and extra fonts eating up my memory. Even on a P3 with 256m of ram I still turn that stuff off because I can notice the difference. When I finally get my dual P3 933 put together I'll still do the same thing. Notice I said it looks like ****. I didn't say anything about the OS itself. Whistler is just NT5 with some prettiness added on. Kinda like how 98 was to 95.

Just take the dinput.dll out of SP1 and put it in 2000.

"and it is almost as stable as 2000." ;( You try to convince yourself every night..... IE5.5 & Media Player 7 are very flaky in 9x. Since IE is even more integrated into ME many more flaky problems will occur. IE5.5 and Media Player 7 work wonderfully in NT5 though. -
Don't wait for a new cleansweep. Go to www.tweakfiles.com and get a registry cleaner. I haven't used Cleansweep since....95.

1. Copy the Windows 2000 CD to your HD. 4. Extract Sp1network.exe to a subdirectory. 5. Go to the Update directory in the extracted SP1 directory. 6. Make a batch file called update.bat and place these lines into it: update.exe -s:F:\W2PSEL_EN What update.exe looks for is the i386 directory. So change the F:\ to reflect the drive that has the i386 directory from the Windows 2000 CD. W2PSEL_EN is just the directory where the i386 directory resides. In case your wondering why mine is different it's because I have the SELECT version. 7. Save the batch file and run it. 8. It should update your files and it will tell you when it is done. If it doesn't then you have done something wrong. 9. Download CDRWIN from www.goldenhawk.com 10. Get the CD-ROM boot sector and CD Marker files from here: http://www.angelfire.com/de2/w2kcd/neededfiles.zip 11. Place the appropriate files from neededfiles.zip into the root directory of the copied CD. Place CDROM_NT.5 into the root of the CD. Place: CDROM_IP.5 - If you are doing 2000 PRO then place this into the root. CDROM_IS.5 - If you are doing 2000 SERVER then place this into the root. CDROM_IA.5 - If you are doing 2000 ADVANCED SERVER then place this into the root. 12. The root of the CD should now have these files: Autorun.inf cdrom_iX.5 cdrom_nt.5 read1st.txt readme.doc setup.exe 13. Open CDRWIN and choose the File Backup and Tools option 14. In the BACKUP/TOOL Operation Choose the Build an ISO9660 Image File 15. in FILE BACKUP List click the DIRECTORY button and choose the directory where you copied the Windows 2000 CD. Click OK. Then click the ADD button. You should see the directory in the big box now. 16. Check the INCLUDE HIDDEN FILES,LONG FILENAMES(JOLIET),INCLUDE SYSTEM FILES,RECURSE SUBDIRECTORIES boxes. 17. For IMAGE FILENAME click the three dots at the right and choose a directory and a filename. Then click Save. You should see the pathname and the filename of your .ISO in the box. 18. Check the DISABLE VERSION NUMBERS box. 19. Click the ADVANCED OPTIONS button. 20. For Volume Label use the name of the original Windows 2000 CD. Ex: W2PSEL_EN For Volume Set Name use the bame of the original Windows 2000 CD Publisher Name: MICROSOFT CORPORATION PREPARER NAME: MICROSOFT CORPORATION, ONE MICROSOFT WAY, REDMOND WA 98052, (206) 882-8080 21. Choose the BOOTABLE DISC tab. 22. Check the MAKE BOOTABLE DISC box. 23. For MEDIA EMULATION CHOOSE Custom 24. For Image File name use the boot.bin from the neededfiles.zip. 25. For DEVELOPER NAME use MICROSOFT CORPORATION 26. For Load Sector Count use the number 4. 27. Click OK and then START. 28. When it's done open up any CDR burning program that supports .ISO's to burn your IMAGE to CD. THANK YOU http://www.angelfire.com/de2/w2kcd/ From the bottom of my heart whoever made this website and made those files in the neededfiles.zip.

The problems are not caused by SP1 but actually by the programs that used Pre-Sp1 code.

It wouldn't be suprising. These are Creative drivers after all. Anyways with the Liveware 3 drivers on NT5 all of my games have hardware acceleration, EAX 2, and are running fine and dandy.

Out of the cards you posted the Geforce is the newest/fastest/best. That's not an opinion. IT'S A FACT.

Well since your using ACPI and an Athlon I would recommend getting the latest bios. If that doesn't work....switch to Standard and see how that goes.
-
So are all of those devices using IRQ 9? I have heard that thw Athlon & WinTV devices have incompatibilites. This is only what I have heard though....
-
Probly. It depends on wether or not if SP1 updated the dllcache folder.....

Post your IRq's.
