The operating system and the hard drive manufacturer have different ways of calculating the disk size. The value it shows is correct.

Anyone using iTunes on a PC?

I've never seen Itunes request that .NET be installed....I'll check the program today if I can but I not believe that it's a .NET app As far as Quicktime goes you can get Itunes without Quicktime. Previously I had to hack quicktime out myself but when I downloaded Itunes 7 I believe I was able to just download Itunes (the download was ALOT smaller as well without the Quicktime program). Quicktime with Windows has always been dicy but usually only when your dealing with older quicktime programs that require their version of quicktime to be installed. Other than that I haven't had any issue with Quicktime (unless you count when I install Quicktime Alternative and it complains about the real Quicktime). Quote: I've got a perfectly good Windows Media Player LOL. If you say so. Nah, IIRC Itunes is like 30mb or something like that. I personally just use Winamp. The latest ver of Winamp includes an IPOD plugin although I still use the previous Itunes pluging that I used before Winamp included it.

    Bloodlines under 2k3

Install.ini doesn't really do anything. You'll probably have to download Orca (MSI editor) and edit the games .MSI to remove the requirement. I too play games in 2003 so I have to do this every once in a while.
  6. I only have the demo but I've never been able to get the game to work. My Game Compatibility List: http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=8784 Never used these instructions: http://www.ntcompatible.com/European_Air_War_c463.html since I just have the demo. If your really using an ancient PC then just install 98 on it.

    current and near future technologies

Don't know why you would wait for Vista. The only diifference between XP and Vista as far as hardware is increased memory requirement and DX10 support. Since DX10 capable cards aren't out yet and it's not a good idea to pick up a DX10 card as soon as it comes out I really don't see the point. Oh, there's the HD's with the included flash memory but why wait for that either?

    current and near future technologies

Well PCIExpress 2.0 is just around the corner....you may as well wait for that. LOL! heh. There's nothing to wait for. Buy whatever is available right now. I personally am waiting for Quad core for when I build my next machine at the end of this year/early next year. That's only because when I build my machines I build them to last 4-5 years.

    windows is a b****

Yeah, I believe once virtualization really takes off and we are finally able to use our 3D cards in emulators\virtualizers that we can finally play all of our Windows games in Linux. Won't be any time soon. Probably not for another year or two but less than 5 years.

    windows is a b****

Not True....unless your talking about Dx6+ Windows games. Almost every game (DOS/NES/SNES/Genesis/Arcade, etc) except DX6+ Windows games work fine on Linux. Every other game works just as well on Linux as they do on Windows XP.

    HELP with ntldr warning !!!!

Do the floppy disks work in another computer? I remember an issue a long time ago (affects XP too) where when I created bootable floppy disks in 2000/XP that they would not actually be bootable. Only way around it was to write from a floppy image using Winimage or to create the boot disks on another computer.

    HELP with ntldr warning !!!!

Yeah, I think you can do that. Remember people doing that 5-6 years ago because they kept on leaving the CD session open which left the CD unbootable. Noobs.

    HELP with ntldr warning !!!!

When you boot off of a 2000 CD it should have a prompt when your booting that say's "Press any key to boot from CD.." (this only applies if there is no OS on the hard drive (that's not quite correct it's actually the MBR but I'm not going to go into specifics). If you don't see this prompt then it's one of 2 things: 1. You cannot boot from your CD because it doesn't have that ability or was copied incorrectly. 2. Your BIOS does not have the option to boot from CD before booting from your hard drive or the network. The problem is not disabling the network boot (although you can do this). The problem is you need to boot from the CD if the CD has that capability.

    HELP with ntldr warning !!!!

So your saying that when your computer boots up that it's trying to boot off of the network instead of booting off of your hard drive? Quote: hing. I erased the hd using the seagate disks that I downloaded to 2 floppies, so it it completely bare with nothing on it at all. I am trying to reboot to the 2000 cd disk. You don't need to use the software for your hard drives. Windows 2000 setup can wipe your hard drives perfectly fine. It sounds to me like you never installed Windows 2000 after you wiped the disks so the computer is just following the boot order and trying to boot off of the network. Finally, why are you upgrading from Windows ME to Windows 2000 in the year 2006? You are going from a POS garbage OS that should have never been released to an OS that is pretty soon to have support dropped from it by Microsoft. If you were somehow able to put up with Windows ME for all this time then you should just go ahead and put up with Windows XP. Windows XP has all of the annoyingness of Windows ME but at least it's stable and it is actually for home use, whereas Windows 2000 was never intended for home I use. Well I guess the reason that your upgrading to 2000 is because you didn't actually pay for it and you want a better operating system for your computer. I hate to say it but if you cannot troubleshoot the problem that you are experienceing ATM then you should probably have left well enough alone and just bought a new computer.

    Microsoft Golf 1999

Try lowering your pagefile to a low value like 10mb min/max. I can't remember what the max you can set the pagefile to, to get rid of this error but setting to 10/10 should work and then you can play with it from there.

Why can't I image to a USB hard drive, with Ghost?

I'm just pissed that Symantec ruined Ghost like it has for so many other programs. It's a shame. If you ever get around to buying another imaging solution then please stay away from Symantec (only if they continue to suck of course). Imaging from DOS was fine back in the day but it's 2006. If your imaging your modern computer with MS-DOS then you should REALLY upgrade to a better solution. With that said if what you are using now works fine for you then so be it but at least take a look at imaging solutions @ Acronis and see if it will make your life any easier. Acronis is well known for it's ability to back up Windows while Windows is running so right there is a reason for you to buy it.

Why can't I image to a USB hard drive, with Ghost?

Wish I could say but DOS sucks (and so does Ghost). I would run some testing scenarios on VPC for you since I think I have every DOS version but it would really be a PITA and Norton is on everyone SH*T List....and for good reason.

Why can't I image to a USB hard drive, with Ghost?

I can't help with the Ghost problem since I stopped using Ghost a LONG time ago. Probably since 2003. Acronis is the better solution. For those cases where I MUST use ghost then I use Ghost32 which runs on BartPE. I can't imagine someone still using DOS to backup their images in this day and age. You said that your formated your external drive as NTFS and that you are saving your disk image to this drive. AFAIK, Ghost doesn't come with an NTFS driver so you'll need to buy NTFSDOS from sysinternals to have the ability to write to a NTFS formated drive. If you don't want to do that then your only other option is to create a FAT32 partition on your external drive and then ghost can write to that just fine. Considering that you are having to load USB drives on your DOS bootdisk I'm not sure how well the NTFS driver will work especially since they usually chew up alot of memory. Seriously get Acronis. If money is a problem then download a Linux Live Distro and use the many free imaging solutions out there.

    nv4_disp infinite loop error

If you play alot of games just be aware that the latest NVIDIA drivers are not always good to use for some games. Occasionally you'll have to revert to older drivers depending on the game. 2D has always been fine but newer NVIDIA drivers for older cards have always been iffy for D3D games.

Download the PC Game Compatibility list from my signature. (It's an excel file). Once in the excel file look for this game in there and there will be instructions on what I did to get the game t work.
