The TNT2 is ALOT better than the TNT1. 640X480 is not really much of a test for a video card since your testing the cpu + vid card. Run benchmarks at 1024X768 and compare to TNT2. You will notice a HUGE difference in performance.

Quake 3 runs fine under NT, even better than 9x. Ignore the post above mine.

http://arstechnica.infopop.net/OpenTopic...amp;m=093090421 Check that link out. Basically what it says is to reinstall your drivers....the right way.
-
Yeah, the DXR3 drivers are crap too.
-
Try switching your computer to standard instead of ACPI.

1. Try different reference drivers. The latest are not always the best. 2. Dunno about this. 3. As far as I know there is no fix for this. Many games that do not officially support Windows 2000 crash back to the desktop. The problem is with the game and not with Windows 2000. Lucasarts needs to release a patch for Grim Fandago. 4. Dunno about this one. My Sidewinder Gamepad (Gameport) works fine connected to my SBLIVE! Value. I had some trouble using it on RC2. So I had to edit a .INF. But ever since RC3 I never had to edit the .INF. (Are you using a final release of 2000)

Redownload the file. Your download is corrupt. If that little prob puzzled Razor....I'm glad I went with my Intellimouse explorer.

Wheel of Time is based on Unreal Tournament. Unreal Tournament works best on these API's the best list first going down is bad 1. Glide 2. Direct3D 3. Metal 4. Opengl Unreal Tournament runs fine in Windows 2000 so whatever prob your having might be with your graphics card. ------------------ C:\Dos C:\Dos\Run \Run\Dos\Run

Also I have been using Windows 2000 for more than a year. In ALL of that time I have NEVER had to insert the Windows 2000 CD to install a piece of hardware. Thank you Creative. Thank you very very VERY much.

How to upgrade RC3 to final without pirating??? Strange
DosFreak replied to FrogMaster's topic in Slack Space
It probly just updates the version number. Also there is nothing wrong with installing one copy of Windows 2000 on a second PC at home. Man you must have a very guilty conscience. -
Did you change the setting in the bios to boot from floppy?
-
Check out X-Setup at www.xteq.com
-
You have a Voodoo 2. 'Nuff said.
-
old pic but still funny.
-
I've noticed those DX7 files aren't the same version as the retail Pro. Unless they have changed them recently.
-
Did you check your mobo manufacturer's website for a bios update?
-
That's BS. I've been using multiple partitions since the 486's. No problems at all. That guys has a Phd in BS.
-
With APM & ACPI in NT5 you may need a BIOS update.

The Live value is not the same as the X-gamer or the Mp3. The Live value does not have digital out. Also the platinum is not worth buying if you are just a gamer or if you do not have much money.

"delete win98 without formatting the disk (i have ****loads of information that i can't backup ~12gb!" Then you definetly DO NOT want to mess around with the partition. (By that I mean converting it to another type). Back it up. "can i just edit the boot.ini and delete c:\windows?" Yes. As long as your NT directory is WINNT and your 9x directory is WINDOWS, then yes you can. "secondly how can i delete the zero size drive which somehow was created - if i double click on it in win2k it says "F:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect" if i right click on it Type is local disk and file system is unknown, used + free space +capacity is zero!" Go into Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management. It's pretty obvious what to do from there.
-
Companies just haven't gotten the hang of making gaming drivers for NT yet.
-
Well if you needed the updates NOW instead of when the SP came out then you would be **** out of luck until the SP arrives now wouldn't you?
-
Yeah Norton Corporate is good. No probs here.
