You stop trying to install Directx7 for 9x and you wait for a Directx update for Windows 2000. THAT IS HOW YOU SOLVE IT.
-
Duh. Bull**** works almost all the time.

You are probably using ACPI. 1. Go into your bios and disable ACPI. 2. Go into Device Manager, Computer, and change it from ACPI to whatever it's supposed to be. If Bp6 change to ACPI Uniprocessor if it's any other mobo choose Standard. This MIGHT fix your prob. I have a BE6 and have had no probs with having my Wintv, USB, Network card, G400 all sharing IRQ 7 using the latest bios. I have done hours of video capture and multiple benchmarks....BE6 solid as a rock. Of course... I made it!

You sure? I install 3.0. Don't Reboot! Install all the latest patches! Reboot! Start Burnin'! Of course now I have 4.0 but the above worked fine for months!

Perhaps the most important question in the whole thread is the one I am about to ask. How the heck can anyone play Quake 3 with a joystick!!!???? To me that's like playing Quake 3 on a dreamcast with a puny arse controller.

What kind of memory?

Make sure that there is an audio cable going from your DXR3 to your sound card. Also double-click on the volume icon in the system tray and make sure that the appropritate device is unmuted and that the volume is sufficiently high. If you can't get any of that to work, get an external cable to connect the Line-out of the Dxr3 to the Line-in of the sound card to verify that your Dxr3 is outputting sound.

http://www.7thzone.com/region_free/tools/dxr3.htm Go here to get your Dxr3 working. This is how I have done it for the last 50+ times I have installed NT5 on my home machine. 1. Install NT5. 2. Install Hollywood + beta drivers. 3. Put that laxity patch in with the Hollywood + application software. 4. Run the application software install. 5. The I use Zone Selector 4.1 to load up station.exe. It's worked EVERY SINGLE TIME in those exact same steps. ------------------ C:\Dos C:\Dos\Run \Run\Dos\Run

This is the best reply your gonna get mage. Get a swap file monitoring program or you can use that monitoring program that 9x uses. Have it monitor your swap file while you do your normal everyday stuff and then set your swap file to whatever it says. If you don't wanna wait forever and a half to monitor your swap file just load up games like Unreal Tournament and Ultima Ascension and then check the swap file usage monitor. Whatever it says then, then set your swap file to that. NT is better to get a good idea of how much ram you should buy or how much ram is being taken up because all I have to do is look in Task Manager and there is my Peak.

Hmmm, obviously by your statement above I can tell you have not worked around computers much. Ever upgraded from 3.1 to 95? If you had you would have noticed ALOT of games and apps that had probs. Ever installed Linux on your computer? Let's see if every single device works. If you want something that works (and suxs) go buy your Mac,PSX,PSX2,Gameboy,NES,SNES,N64,Game Gear,Dreamcast. Man...I'm tired of posting this crap, but if I don't the thread will degenerate into long drawn out crappy threads with no point....like this one. ------------------ C:\Dos C:\Dos\Run \Run\Dos\Run

I think your expecting too much out of your 'puter.
-
Stndard stuff....do that every time I reinstall without thinkin' bout it. But it's still a good read.

Go to www.wininternals.com. You'll see other "vulnerability" patches for Windows 9x and Dos that will allow you to read/write to NTFS partitions.

Make sure you have the cables plugged correctly in the back of the TV card. To verify this remove ALL cable from the TV card and start up a TV aplication. If the TV application starts up fine then you are not plugging your cables in correctly. Begin pluggin the cables in one by one. I know this works because I had the same problem while setting up my Wintv theater a couple of days ago. Now it is working fine and tonight I am going to put American Pie on one CD!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPEEEEEEE!!!!

Get new TweakUI Posted by Jote at 17:20 GMT+1 - Source: Windows3000 JoteSite Just received a message from our fan, John L., about a new TweakUI available. This current one is version 1.32, works with Win95/98/NT/2k. Expires August 2000. Go download it from here. http://web.ukonline.co.uk/cook/tweak.ZIP I saw this little tidbit on http://jotenet.koti.com.pl/ . Now what I want to know is why the heck is TweakUI expiring????? Geesh...mabye all software should expire on a certain date, then everyone would have to update and we would all have a better world.

Strange my Matrox G400 runs 3Dmark 2000 flawlessly.
-
The NT radio is V1.34 The 9x radio is v1.37
-
hehehehhe...hahahhaah. Your going to switch from Matrox's EXCELLENT (or nearly excellent drivers) to Ati's crappy ones??? You might as well just leave your Matrox card in and switch to VGA color.
-
Copy the Opengl ICD out of the 5.06 NT4 drivers and copy them into the 3.81 NT5 drivers. See if that works.
-
Are you using the NT radio? It's easy to choose the wrong one too many **** drivers for the WINTV!
-
Guys, this thread has gone on through 5 pages of bashing Jdulmage. Don't you think that is enought? Everybody makes mistakes..........can't we all just get along? muahahhahahaha Dos in NT5 your killin me!
