Received notification that I would get a free copy of 2000 Pro! Yeppeee!!! Anyways I thought I would dust off my ancient dusty copy of RC2 to get ready for the full ver. So anyways I install and see that 2000 being the helpful OS it is installed the VIA UNSUPORRTED DRIVER or whatever it is under the USB tree. Well all you have to do is click on DRIVER...then UPDATE...and pick SUPPORTED VIA and TADA!!! all of your USB devices should work now. Stupid 2000. Anyways...I hope this little tip helps all of you guys out. Anyone know if this prob still exists in the final ver? Also I was wondering if anyone could email me the ViaAgp.sys file from their driver.cab from the final ver of 2000? I want to know if they fixed the prob in 2000 where I have to change the AGP Aperture size in 2000 to the same amount of video memory I have in my vid card every time I reboot to 2000. Try changing the cursor speed using the mouse icon in control panel.

Also I don't know if you knew this or not but copying the files off of the CD to your HD improves Grim Fandagos speed between scenes SIGNIFICANTLY! Just read the readme for GM to find out how to do it.

I give up! The easiest way to solve this problem would be to e-mail the manufacturer. Other than disabling UDMA for that drive in the bios (it doesn't use it anyway), deleting the DVD from device manager and letting NT reinstall it upon reboot, or moving the DVD to another IDE configuration. Time for me to ask another stupid question! But I gotta ask! You sure you did this in DOS mode right? Not in a DOS window? It would be great if this new firmware fixed your prob.

So you actually disable the swap file on your servers!!!???? I know performance is a must...but really...

I've used PQ 4...but the only part of it that I use is the DOS part of it PQMAGICT.EXE. I don't see why a person could not reboot with a dos disk and use the pqmagict.exe to make an extra fat16,32,ntfs 4 partition and then install W2K.

I'm sure you may have already done this but: 1. Have you updated the firmware of the DVD? 2. Tried other DVD's?...or checked the docs on the DVDs to make sure your DVD was supported. 3. Disable DMA and try it. 4. Give up and use your other DVD...hehehe.

The only norton I know of for NT is Norton Utilities 2.0 for NT 4.0. I have no idea if they plan a W2K ver.
