Agreed. Stick to 98. This is not an opinion. It's fact.
-
After you install 98. Boot into XP recovery console and try MBRFIX and...some other MBR command. Just type HELP in the recovery console and you'll see it.

Google is your friend http://support.lucasarts.com/tsg/SWBFQuestions/Video%20Issues/UnsupportedVideo.htm Assuming your Geforce is a Geforce 2 MX then your SOL. You could try the latest drivers from Nvidia and see if that helps.

Star Trek Enterprise not going to see 5th season...

My ver is Civ 2 straight from the CD. When you run setup, hit ctrl+alt+del and see if the setup process is hanging. Hmmm, if it is hanging then check for an NTVDM process, end the NTVDM process and see if setup continues.

I couldn't really understand what you are saying. Basically you need to copy autoexec.nt and config.nt from c:\windows\repair to c:\windows\system32 if you reboot and the problem happens again then you probably have a virus and need to scan your system.

Abandonware is illegal, please search google for: "Get a clue". Thread closed.

How to tell NT 4 it's really running on a uni-processor system?
DosFreak replied to sm5w2's topic in Hardware
Easiest solution (without devoting time to researching fixing this that is) would be to reinstall NT. Unless you can modify setup.log to recognize your system as uni-processor then your SOL since any update that involves the HAL will reference the dual info in your setup.log and reinstall the dual HAL. I'll pore through technet and see if I can find what MS uses for NT4 CRC checking. Hmm, try this link: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kbase/W...cessormode.html -
.VXD's can be many things. To actually troubleshoot the problem effectivly you need the name of the .vxd. Most likely it's graphics/sound related but that's just a guess.

Download Rivatuner. It can monitor GPU temp if your video chipset supports it. I don't know if the 5700 Go supports temp monitoring tho.

I'll load up VPC and see if the properties tab is different with NT4......although it shouldn't be. -

Where are you checking Product Version at? On Windows 2000 when I perform a properties on the NT4 SP6 NTOSKRNL.EXE file and click the Version tab.... There is: File Version: 4.0.1381.335 at the top and Product Version: 4.00 which is at the bottom. Product Version of course meaning NT4. -
Abandonware is not supported at this site. Post your question again mentioning the actual games that you are having problems with but without mentioning the abandonware. Thread closed.
-
Those games are the most graphics intensive yet, perhaps they are overheating the GPU so it downclocks itself?

Don't double post. Double posting is evil. Thread closed.

I just got this brand spankin new game. Do i have to download something or what. PLEASE HELP! It's possible that it is a bad dic. Check the CD for scratches or dirt. If none and you still have the same problem, then copy all of the game CD's to the hard drive and install the game from there. If you still can't copy the file then either the CD drive is dirty or you have a bad CD.

The error message says that the problem is Radeon IGP 320M, so now my question is, does anyone know how to fix the problem? Should I download some sort of newer version? Or is something else the problem? Try upgrading your video card drivers. It's doubtful that will help you tho since the problem you are experiencing seems like a heat issue to me.

Yeah, QL was great. I have Season 1 on DVD and will pick up Season 2 soon. I try to forget about QL when I watch Enterprise but I just don't see him as an Enterprise captain. I think what irritated me the most is that they go back over Star Trek history to fill in the gaps just to keep Enterprise afloat. I mean come on! Think up some new material already! I can understand if you do it every once in awhile to please the fans but a new show should not focus on backstory just to keep it afloat. Time travel - It's always gotta be about time travel in ST. STOP WITH THE TIME TRAVEL! The 2 worst things about ST:TNG was Time Travel and Holodecks. When they couldn't figure out anything else to do for an episode they always drag those 2 back out. -
Star Trek Enterprise not going to see 5th season...

Are you kidding? I've never liked Enterprise. My opinion on the best Star Trek in order from best to worst: ST: TOS ST: TNG ST: DS9 ST: Voyager Enterprise. Problem with this is that although ST:TOS, ST:TNG had good character interaction there wasn't really an overall arc for the series, which is probably why ST:DS9 is really my favorite among all of them. I could never see anything good about the series: The Captain wasn't as engaging as Kirk, Picard or Sisko. The "background" characters didn't seem as alive as the ones from the other series. I've heard people mention that because the last year or so was "decent" that for some unfair reason the show is being cancelled. Guy's, any other new show that didn't have the ST name behind it would have been cancelled after the first season if they dared to show that kind of dreck. There's show's like: Babylon 5 (Another good series gone) Andromeda Battlestar Galactica Stargate Stargate Atlantis Firefly (MUCH (not even in same league) Better than Enterprise but cancelled ) Heck, those cancelled/ended shows are a million times better than Enterprise could ever be, geesh Even Earth: Final Conflict was better than Enterprise! Every time I think of Enterprise I wonder what Gene Rodenberry would have though about it...and I think "Not Much". Could someone who like this show tell me what's so good about it? and have they watched these other shows? -
Also depending on what IDE/SATA controller your drive is connected to you may want to see if there are updated drivers/firmware for it. (For the CD drive and the controller)
