Okay, First all this forum does not support WAREZ. Second, Although I am well aware that warez in most cases is just as "reliable" as retail software, It doesn't help matters when you don't use the game's installer or use a hacked together registry installer to install the game. Third, Contact someone else who has downloaded it. Fourth, Buy the game. This will almost certainly fix the "problem".

IIRC, the beta ATI DX9 drivers are older than the Cat 2.5's...
-
Alot of games do. Forcing the games affinity to a single processor usually fixes it.
-
Ehh, I believe this is fixed in the latest drivers. Download the latest drivers from ATI.
-
Have you installed all of the application compatibility updates from Microsoft?
-
ehhh no. ATI got scared and released their card WAY before schedule. DX9 is on the same schedule it's always been at.
-
IIRC, DX3 comes with Service Pack 4+, DirectPlay 6 comes with SP6. As far as I know there is no DX 3 for NT for seperate download.

Quote: whynot delete whole thread then? If MS feels that posting a KB article on changing your CD key is appropriate then it is allowed to be posted here. But posting CD Keys and links to Key Generators and such are not....for obvious reasons.

Ah, here we go. For 2K: Upon execution you will receive this error message: Myst32 requires Windows 95, You are running Windows NT. To fix: Right-click on shortcut, go to properties, Compatibility tab, Choose Win98. Run Game!

Is it the Windows 3.1 Myst or the Windows 95 Myst? If 3.1 (which I do not have) then supposedly there is no way to get it to work in NT. If it's the Windows 95 ver then it should work fine. Whats the prob? Is it not installing?
-
Yes, you still need the pagefile. Search the forums.

;( All it takes is the source code and a copy of hours in some cases.... In particular the Windows ver of Mech 2: Mercs could be made to work quite simply if we had it.....
-
We seem to be going from RPG->Adventure->ClickFest light-RPG. What next? Interactive Movie FF7+? Darn, already went there..... How about FPS with RPG elements? NOLF2, Deus EX , Thief?

Boot up Xp, 2000 server. any suggestion?
DosFreak replied to yaktao's topic in Everything New Technology
Try XP recovery console and type HELP, I believe you want the FIXBOOT command.. This will check for NT valid installations (Windows 9x,NT4,2K,XP) and add to BOOT.INI. -
Can't provide the link at the moment but if you look around in the MSKB articles you'll find the method to do so.
-
Sounds like a long time to me.

XP stable from the outset? HA!. GUI, GUI, GUI, GUI, GUI. If you don't know what I'm talking about...well then you don't know.
-
Yup, Ghost + Systpre is t3h Win!
-
Well JA and JADG are DOS games. Dunno About JA2. Gonna have to look that up but your error sounds like a Windows game. Is it a Windows game?
-
Hmm, I have Jagged Alliance and Deadly games but not 2. What's the prob?
-
?? Should work fine. It does over here.

Upgrade. As for which upgrade? 2000 or XP? I cannot help you with that. For business use I say 2000...for home use I say 2000.. If your still runing NT4 it means that you want something that is proven and stable which Windows 2000 is and 2000 will be supported for some time to come. Still, try both out for yourself and see what you like but generally the consesus is that for work/home 2000 is the best.

Windows XP Pro vs Windows 2000 Pro
DosFreak replied to gilgamesh's topic in Everything New Technology
Search the forums. This has been discussed MANY times before. -
All CD Burners are the same as far as compatibility in NT. As long as it's IDE/SCSI your gold.
