Are you running the command prompt in full screen before running the game?

There is no performance increase at all as far as I am aware of. The proper place to get such info would be here or @ storagereview....that's about it. As for helping you out with the speed increase....there shouldn't be any decrease in speed going from basic to dynamic...just a loss of compatibility. In the times that I have used dyanmic (very few..since there is no need to use it) I have noticed no performance difference. Are you running the latest SP and do you have benchmarks? Perhaps something else messed up the system but you might think it's the basic->dynamic conversion?

The only other file that is required to extract from an installshield .cab file is the .hdr file. i5/6comp IS the proper program to extract BUT it will do nothin for you if the .CAB is corrupted. I am unaware of any Installshield .CAB file repair programs.

Just run fastvid.exe and hit NO to every question except the last. Then run INSTALL.EXE on the daggerfall CD.

Hmmm, as far as I know MI4 supports D3D & OGL. Make sure that your 3dfx drivers support OGL and don't use the MI4 launcher. Run the game executable in the game directory manually. That being said....I've never gotten MI4 to work in NT4. Sorry.

Install all updated drivers. Such as VIA motherboard drivers and Directx 8.1b for starters. Also why did you go from XP to 2K? (I applaud your decision if you know what your doing....)

Hmmm, can you post an IRQ listing? Also does the blue screen show a filename? I'm betting that it's the Live?

Well yes but make sure that you can access the bios...because eventually down the road you may need to actually configure it.... Quote: Don't care about the orginal setup. That's 4 years old. Just don't want to wipe the bios if it was still on the drive like older Compaqs. I removed the IDE cable from the dsrive and booted to a floppy ok. I assume that means the bios IS on the MB, since if it was on the HD the MB wouldn't even post, correct?

Best 3rd party back up software for a small buisness ?
DosFreak replied to Mr.Guvernment's topic in Software
You can't go wrong with Veritas (the NTBackup is actually a stripped down Backup Exec). Go with Backup Exec. -
Hmmm, don't remember if that game uses copy protection or not. Will have to check my list. U sure that the CD is good?

Also have you tried the game WITHOUT any patches?

Hmmm, 2000 Controller drivers may be unoptimized for that laptop. Laptop HD's are VERY crappy (at least on older HD's) Try up[censored] the drivers if you can. Also flash the bios.

Hmmm, what type of video card do you have? IIRC, Simon 2 doesn't use VESA.

Installed the latest updates?

Hmm, as far as I know the "Windows 2000" compatibility layer just passes the OS ver to the application as Windows 2000. That's it. War 3 runs fine on my Windows XP.....
