Meant BG2. Played BG1 first when it came out but after playing BG2 it's extremely difficult to play BG1. They should combine the BG series with some new additions and release the full thing on DVD. That would be great.

Do you have an integrated NIC? Tried newer/older drivers?

Can't help you either. I've never found a way to convert XP FULLY to 2K mode to my liking and tweaking XP to get to that mode is such a pain that I just gave up. So for now I use 2K for work and XP for gaming,,,but mostly 2K for both until I can find the years that it will likely take to configured a policy/.reg to tweak XP to a usable level for me.

Your question is too broad. Best Single Player RPG Baldur's Gate Best Multi-Player RPG NWN I voted BG since I do not play online games. I am also pissed that more and more game companies are turning the single player games into tutorials for the online games. Me no likely. But what I think does not matter.

Hmmm, set all devices to Cable Select and see what happens.

I LOVE farscape. Unfortunately I live in the UK and in my area I cannot get SKY (we're working on it...but it's difficult). I went to some classes back in the states and got to catch up on the latest Farscape episodes on SciFi. Before that the only way I was able to catch up was by reading the Transcripts . Just got back 2 weeks ago and borrowed a friends "Best of Farscape DVD" I've already seen all those episodes but that was so long ago. (Eagerly awaiting Seasonal DVD Releases!) I read an article about the Farscape game but thought it looked pretty crappy. It's really pathetic that they cannot make a good Farscape game. I think a good Farscape game would allow you to play the main Farscape characters and use their traits. Replaying the game through their perspectives. Mode of gameplay would most likely be third-person or isometric and a mix of RPG/RTS (Homeworld/Moya). Instead they give us....THIS. ;(

The theory is that no new features are integrated into SP's. Microsoft seems to be breaking this rule lately but no there is no new ver of DX in a SP...possibily...mabye updated .dll's but no new DX.

Quote: Is there any date set for a service pack for IE6? Nope, but I expect around XP SP1's release. 28th Aug. Quote: It is about time for one wouldn't you agree? It's ALWAYS time for a new SP. Quote: Or has MS stopped with SP's for IE, getting users to apply the "Patches" instead through windowsupdate? Nope. Quote: PS, how does it work again with IE service Packs? is there a URL where the full pack can be downloaded (Like for NT "Full install" service packs), and installed over serveral machines, or does one have to go through windows update anyway Just like every other IE. No different.

Guys: I need a Quake III timedemo Demo for 1.31 build of Q3!

We should start a new thread with JK2. That's the latest incarnation of the Q3 engine and more intensive. -

intim2, at 1280X1024+ it's all about the video card when you have a fast processor. Quake 3 is such an old game that a P3 1ghz is more than enough for it processor-wise. That's why your seeing such a small increase in speeds between my chipset and yours. Basically your system is too powerful for Q3. Alec, When I benchmark I revert Nvidia drivers to default settings. With no AA or Ansiotrop. Just default Det settings. I then benchmark. The reason why I don't have AA,Ansio in my benchmark results like I used to is because I think I was lazy and I didn't wanna go to the trouble. When a new ver of Q3bench comes out I'll probly rebench. Or are you saying that you want my results for AA,Ansio @ 1024X768? If so I'll rebench at that res when I get home if ya want but basically we'll all pretty much be the same with our ti4600's. -

teh Carmack speaketh: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=33453&cid=3619372 http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=34863&cid=3784210 GF3 cards will be comfortable with Doom 3 it seems. Probly in the 1024X768 and below area. Where GF4+ will likely be 1280X1024-1600. -

Haven't benchmarked Q3 in awhile (been away)...but I doubt they have changed that much. Also in case you guys didn't know Q3Bench is an excellent Q3 engine benchmarking tool. Last I heard Q3Bench had a bug in it and the author was redoing it...but I dunno if he has released the latest ver yet. Supposedly he was working on JK2 and on Q3 engine games into his benchmark. You can email him at www.g256.com I think. No but is is recommended. APM support is fading away and ACPI is the new power management king...unless of course your hardware does not support it. In 2K there was an option in power management to power down your PC when not using ACPI...dunno if it's still there in XP. Enable APM in your bios and check it out. Is there any specific reason why you are choosing APM over ACPI? ACPI is preferable especially in today's computers with dozens of IRQ's.

Nope, When installed 2k's boot.ini will point to the 2k partition telling it where to boot the OS. Since 2k will not be able to "see" your *nix partitions then the partitioning # scheme may look kinda weird. You might also consider sticking *nix into your boot.ini if you use NT primarily.
-
2K does nothing to FAT partitions during install unless you tell it to. (Except the MBR of course) So the only thing that would affect your *nix would be the MBR which you can easily fix if ya got a bootable *nix CD/floppy.

Quote: well it runs for a while and then will just crash and reboot my sys LOL Odd, programs should not do that. Does you see a BSOD? Have you turned off Automatic reboots?
