Are you trying to get this game working in Windows 2000 or Windows XP?
-
Im so F****** sick of this I could almost buy a Mac!
DosFreak replied to Curley_Boy's topic in Customization & Tweaking
[humble]I am so good...I just can't stand it anymore. [/humble] -
Hmmm, it's hard to say if the game crack was the only thing done to the game itself. Most downloaded cracked/ripped copies can be played just fine (although why someone would download a cracked/ripped copy is beyond me) I suggest throwing it away. Driver really isn't worth playing anyway. If you want a criminaly minded Driving type of game that's far more realistic than Driver then I recommend that you pick up Grand Theft Auto 3. I bought Driver and the only thing I've done with it is load it up to see if it works. ;(

Tried Driver out last night and it works perfectly. 2000/XP. Using the latest 30.30 det's on my GF4 Ti4600. I've also used Driver on a TNT1/Matrox G400/Geforce 2 GTS/Geforce 3.

Why with my Santa cruz sound card in my computer i get hard
DosFreak replied to imtim83's topic in Hardware
Santa Cruz has ALOT of driver revisions. What ver are you using? -
Yep, I hate Driver posts because I never seem to be able to help. Driver has always worked for me. Going to try it out tonight again just to be extra duper sure but I'm sure that it will work like it has dozens of times before. (2000/XP)

Opinions on Registry Cleaner I wrote nearly 4 years ago I im
DosFreak replied to jdulmage's topic in Software
No. A Registry Cleaner "cleans" the registry by removing invalid key's. Key's are invaid if they do not match your system configuration. Tweaks are simply Key's with modified values. -
Nothing wrong with that procedure. It's even recommended by Nvidia itself. The only thing I do different is instead of running the Setup program I go to the video card directly in Device Manager and point it to the .INF file where my Dets are. This removes the setup program from the equation and let's me know exactly what it is that I am doing.

It wasn't that simple of a fix before the Catalyst drivers.

The MAXX was NEVER a good card. EVER.

ATTN:DOSFREAK----Stand-by & Hibernation Error
DosFreak replied to embj's topic in Customization & Tweaking
Try underclocking and/or increasing your memory timings. Also Hmmm, remove the IDE devices you added. CDR/CD/DVD? and try your hibernation. Are you sure that you did not update your drivers different from before your format? -
Anyone? Also...how about customizing the front page for how you want to view it? For instance if I only wanted NT news then I could set the option, the cookie would be detected by the site and I would only ever see NT news.

.PNG still lives!

U7 doesn't really work. There's a DPMI fix but it's veeerry slow. To get U7 to work you have to download "Exult" which is basically an updated engine for the game. Similar to "JDoom" for Doom in that it provides a Win32 interface to the files. It's pretty neat so check it out!

Is there a Athlon XP CPU driver in your device manager in Wi
DosFreak replied to MarksmanX's topic in Hardware
If you are using ACPI then there will be a "driver" display in your Device Manager for your processor. If you are not using ACPI then there will not be. -
NT networking problem thats been bugging me for years
DosFreak replied to Admiral LSD's topic in Networking
NT4? 2000? or XP? If 2000 or XP there's a reg tweak but I think your probably referring to NT4. -

Are you overclocking that Athlon? Are you running the memory past it's specs? -
How about a forum that X+ years and X+ amount of posts are required to enter? Just a little something for those of us who have been around pretty much from the beginning, would have a little bit more intelligent discussion and quicker/more informative responses to "techie" questions. I propose 1 year and 500+ posts? Mabye 250 posts? Reason why so many posts is presumably that you had provided a certain amount of "help" on the site. Also possibily make it viewable to those who do not fit the requirement but make it unable for them to logon

Yep, I'm security at my base and I focus primarily upon that. I meant to suggest a Security forum but I thought everyone was tired of my suggestions.

..even tho it works perfectly. I see this happening ALOT, for submissions for Windows NT4.0, 2000,XP....but even tho they are listed as not working I NEVER see a post by the person who submitted it to the database in the forum. Who are these mysterious people? Do they just: 1. Go to store. 2. Buy game/software/hardware. 3. Load game/software/hardware on to computer. 4. Game/software/hardware no worky. Go to ntcompatible and list as not working. Do they not try the latest patches? Do they not try the forums? Do they not go to the program website? Mabye a list of procedures should be listen on the submission form before submitting.......

Well this is amusing: http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=33628114 Looks like ATI may improve their driver situation by cheating. Oh Nvidia how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.... *This is of course from the forums, I do not see anything official by ATI so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
