The ones that look more densely packed are ATA66/100 cables.

Bring down the prices to Earth levels, and I'll buy all the software that I need. Who in the right phucking mind is going to pay $500-600 for a Goddamn Office Suite??????????? What am I paying for actually? The programmer's time or the advertisement costs? How come Microsoft did not fire anyone in these times of recession, when .coms are going down in value like crazy?

Yea, I want to get your thoughts on this... Which drivers seem to have the best balance between speed and stability? I tried 23.11 and it died on me with a lockup then BSOD with infinite loop. I have an ASUS V7100 Pro (GF2MX-400 w/TVout), and I was thinking of using the newest Asus drivers (21.81) for W2K/XP. Did anyone use those, and how do they compare to Nvidia reference drivers? I don't care if I get 80 FPS instead of 100, I just need stability. Of course if they pull 40 FPS instead of 100, then I'll reconsider

Just wondering, but if you "just discovered it", it means it did SOMETHING which you witnessed. Then again, why are you asking "what does it do?". You lost me there on this piece of logic...

IBM 75GXP 45 gig HD and WinXP: I Could fry eggs on this HD,
Palos replied to pr-man's topic in Hardware
Why is that? Does it run too hot or what? Also the 75GXP series are prone to hardware failures, maybe yours is one. -
DNS resolution maybe? Edit your lmhosts for example, with: IP address - DNS name --------------------- x.x.x.x ntcompatible.com and try to call www.ntcompatible.com from the browser

Isn't that nifty, though? You don't have to dig around looking for the the CD Case anymore, lol

If it's a VxD error, it might have to do with bad RAM or an overheating CPU.

Today there has been another update released, is this the one you are talking about?

LOL, back to the roots then... -
Doesn't this sound like the VIA bug to any of you? Lol... The KT133 is definately plagued, the Southbridge's the culprit here. CT sounds like a Creative chipset to me...dunno, do some research and see what patches suit you best. Check www.viaarena.com as well.

Does anyone remember BitBoys Oy ? Supposedly an amazing gfx solution...whatever... As far as Nvidia goes, I wouldn't bet that in 5 years' time they will still be on top. At least if they continue like this with 6 months product cycling. What good is a Geforce 3 Ti500 when you have $hit drivers that die on you after 1/2 hour? The sad part is that my Geforce 2MX-400 dies too after 1/2 hour or less with the new drivers (supposedly OFFICIAL). GODDAMN I AM PISSED, how can they release such CRAP ???????

"The last uptime for the machine I run with it was 63 hours" Muhahahhahahahaa, I can picture you on stage with Steve Balmer jumping around like monkeys, praising the groundbreaking technological advance that W2K features. .net is useless for homeusers, personally I see no point even installing it. The successor to XP, blackcomb or whatever is called, should be interesting indeed. SP3 is more than welcomed, official version though. The ball currently lies more in the hardware companies' court (ie Nvidia). They are responsible for most of the phuckups (lockups, BSODs) of 2K or XP (see infinite loop probles). If they can get their act together and actually THINK and TEST a damn driver before they release it, it would be indeed a breakthrough. It just pisses me off how such buggy builds made it into the open...

bsplayer stands for bull$hitplayer... The Playa is retarded, primitive and a complete waste of KB MediaPlayer 6.4 was the fastest, easiest MP to date, then came 7 (with variations) and now we have 8. I guess they all do what they are supposed to do: play media, but some are better at it than others. Up to you to decide -
Hmm, you are replacing W2K with WinME in order to get more performance and STABILITY? Nevermind....

I would call this a "downgrade"

Seems to be a problem that occured AFTER I used the automatic Windows Update. I have used XP a couple of months before (build 2600) with the 12.41 drivers (even 12.90): I had NO problems... Yesterday I installed XP again, ran the Updater, installed some stuff and put the 23.11 on it. BAM: BSOD within 10 seconds after reboot. I have a GF2-MX400 Asus, btw. I installed the 12.41 afterwards, the PC hanged, no BSOD but just froze at some point.

Inferno2000, you're the moron, lol. I knew it was a fake, I just wanted to see how people react to it

maybe it's due to the conflict that arises when you have 2 sources trying to output thru directsound?
