I have a 60GXP and it's doing good so far...however I have a horrible noise in the case, my whole case is rattling i need to put some padding or something into it. How can I reduce case noise otherwise?

Duhh it's a beauty... For what's new you can check Roxio's page, but I was more interested in compatibility problems, driver (aspi) problems...what platform are you running the stuff on?
-
By the way, if you want to rip a COMPLETE webpage you need a 3rd party freeware, like SiteSnagger or similar. If you use the SaveAs in IE it will only save the current page (with graphics and stuff). Sitesnagger will rip all subsites, up to 99 levels (from root level - index.html for example) including graphics and links

Just wait for the Unreal 2 engine, muhuahahaha Or even better, the Doom 3 one...dynamic lighting among others, the demos look scary man, lol

I guess the French do it differently ( ) but did he just install "over" or did he use the recovery option?

The SP3 beta program has been going on for a while, as well as separate hotfixes going around being part of SP3. Probably that is a beta version of SP3 from some MSDN leaker, but I would rather wait for the real deal from M$. And by the way, I've seen the package before, from another source, and I can confirm it is around 110 MB in size... -
I know, I get that a lot too...i need to close CS and start it again. Most of the time, my DSL connection is shutdown after that, so i need to restart it as well. No idea what's up with that man, but I was over the weekend at a LAN party and i had a CS stretch of 12 hours nonstop, but never got the error. I think it may lie with CS itself, rather than the OS. Anyone else?

request: A dummy's guide to swap files, pagefiles, and virtu
Palos replied to shassouneh's topic in Customization & Tweaking
Paging is the way windows moves data between ram and hdd (and viceversa). It is called like that because the way data is organized in the swapfile (in blocks, i.e pages). In other words, the swapfile is the physical item, whereas paging is a process. Page file is another name for swap file. -

Palos replied to shassouneh's topic in Customization & Tweaking
A swapfile is used by Windoz to page data that doesn't fit in RAM. "Paging" means swapping data from RAM to HD... According to M$ it has to be 2.5 times your RAM. Personally I think it's bull$hit, I set mine to 250 MB fixed size. Also you can reduce the aggresivity of the OS for paging (using the swapfile) by playing with some registry keys (forgot which). -
Web-Server? Dedicated Gameserver (running Linux)? Seti@Home WU Cruncher Router w/Firewall and NAT-ing for your homelan?

That's a pretty nice way to treat your customers...how about you switch ISPs? Ohh, let me guess...they only "recently" included support for W2K as well, since it's a relatively new OS, right?

Replace your RAM sticks and give it a try

Yakkob: 1 - Read the whole post before you ask questions. 2 - Cheaters suck (and swallow, too)...anti-cheat tool(s) are like antiviruses, with new strains coming out, the definition files need to be updated. That would be the most effective way...expect Valve to incorporate some kind of technology in the future.

Dude, if you can afford a $300,000 house, I think you can afford buying a new comput0r...

Counterstrike 10 points! UT and Q3 are too fast, shooting 10000 rounds/min...little or no team tactic involved. As far as the CS article link someone posted, the 2 individials pictured are not even worthy of a computer-gamer qualificative: they're plain SAD. For those of you who actually took your time and played all 3 shooters (CS, UT & Q3) for a good amount of time, I have a question: How does it feel when you're the last man standing from the CT team against 3 or 4 enemies, WITHOUT ammo packs or health packs, and knowing that you need only one WIN in order to win the clanwar? (on a CS map ) Compare that to any situation in Q3 or UT...pathetic....

If that was a Celeron, it would have made it

Hopefully that wasn't the WINNT\System32 directory, hrhrhrhr.

Are you intersted in pure CDRW functionality or in packet writing technology?

I say Roxio should get their $hit together before they end up defaced 7 times a week.

Times change...when I think about it I don't know whether to freak out or be nostalgic: my first PC when i went to college was a 486 DX2-66, lol. Just before I graduated I had a 450 MHz AMD K6-2...wow what a difference.

This sounds like a Lewis Carrol freakyness... Anyways, maybe you mistyped the subnetmask on the 3rd box or something.
