I got an ASUS V7100 Pro, that is a GF2MX-400, 32MB, TVout... Somehow that memory speed u posted (200 core/166 mem) doesnt match what I see in the Nvidia clock settings (control panel). For me its 200 core/200 mem... I usually overclock it to 210core/220mem for a bit more speed. Running W2K Pro with the 21.83 Detonators...no problems whatsoever

SHS, where do you come from, man?
-
I was looking at the Soyo P4 Fire Dragon as well...is this the one u have, Clutch? Cool thing is that is has an AGP Pro slot, which means I can use my old Asus Geforce 256 until the GF4 Ti4200 comes out It's kinda expensive dammit...

STOP errors maybe related to faulty cache memory? NEED HELP

I have an Alpha PAL8045 for my TbirdC @ 1.33 GHz, works ok, a bit hot at 54 C full blast...now back to your problem: Did you ever clean the Fan/cooler? Did you try booting/running with other RAM sticks other than yours? Did you change around any hardware since you installed XP Pro? (different PCI slots in use, RAM sticks in different slots, etc, etc...). Do you have an extra network card in use besides the built-in LAN? Where do you have XP Pro from? (pc store or DevilsOwn). Just try to answer to all questions, Im working on an old theory of mine...fyi I had almost the same symptoms a while back. -
What card did you buy again?
-
Yea it's a good idea to change the poll to "chipset manufactureres". Then the options would be easier... And the winner is: NONE! Muhhahahaa

When is the damn thing coming out? The waiting drives me nuts...

I don't know what to choose The price difference is about 50 € (US$60), with the GF3Ti200 being the more expensive. The Ti200 I was looking at is the Leadtek model, with 4ns DDR memory, it can be overclocked to Ti500 levels with no problems. Something tells me the GF3 is worth the extra cash, but this Nvidia marketing stuff (GF4 > GF3) is dangerously playing with my head Suggestions anyone?

Uhh, damn...so much for the ATI idea Hmm I need to reconsider...the longer it takes, the better Anyone seen a Ti4200 lying around, anywhere?? On the other hand, those LEECHES tax everything like a mofo over here in Europe, so Im curious how far from the US price tag of $179/199 it will get...

Okay, here is a pretty clear review, backed up with figures (colour pictures too) http://www.hardwaremania.com/reviews_eng/avsn/avsn1.shtml Considering the 8500LE is way cheaper than the Ti500, I would only like to know how is the driver support. Do any of you have this card (or the original 8500), or have buddies that own one? Suggestions, experiences?
-
Lol, how about the Radeon8500LE w/128MB DDR...only difference between the LE and the 8500 Retail is the clock speed (250/250 opposed to 275/275). It has 3.3ns RAM so it can make it allright to 8500 speeds. The prices is also unter $200. Plus is a full DX8 solution, better on paper than the GF3 Ti200. Read some of the reviews for the Hercules 3D Prophet FDX 8500 LE, for example...this model has only 64MB, with 3.8ns RAM.

The Ti4200 is supposed to be around the $199 mark, right? Right now I don't really want to pay $189 for a Ti200 when I can wait a week or 2 (or 3,4,5) and with $10 more I get a Ti4200... I don't think the Ti4200 is worse than a Ti500, esp.if u can overclock it to Ti4400 levels and above
-
Thing is I want to wait for the GF4 Ti4200, it seems to take forever to show up. I need a gfx card fast, cos Im selling my old PC, well parts of it, this week. Can u handle having a P4 1.6 Northwood and a MSI 845 Ultra ARU and NO graphics card? LOL I might ask some friends if they can lend me a cheap card until the Ti4200 comes out...should be couple of weeks at the most.
-
DX9 chips? Hmm, could that be the ATI R300?
-
I say MSI rulez too ATA133 Raid 0,1 USB2.0 onboard CMedia Sound (SPDIF in/out),multichannel support And cheaper than Asus, for sure
-
Ok Clutch, Im gonna use the old 256 MB DDR266 CAS2.5 stick from Samsung, on a MSI 845UltraARU with a P4 1.6 Northwood. I wanted initially to change the FSB from 100 to 133...will the RAM take it? It should...since its DDR266, right?
-
I'm considering a 300W PSU for a P4 1.6 Northwood on a MSI 845 UltraARU and a GeForce 3Ti200...is it wise?

I use IE, doesn't bother me. I find it better than Netscape 6.2.2 for example, much faster as well. Opera is annoying with its ads (last time I checked it). This is my opinion at least -
Lol, then ask at the shop before u buy it if there are any problems. Let me know too...

Can I use my Creative Soundworks Digital Speakers (2.1) with the SPDIF out from the onboard sound chip???
-
It's supposed to be the best integrated audio solution at the moment. It offers SPDIF out among other things...http://www.cmedia.com.tw/product/doc8738.htm I'm looking at a P4 DDR board that has the same audio chip on it, the MSI 845 UltraARU.

Clutch, u mean if the motherboard lets me set the FSB to 150 MHz? I think the EpoX does, from 90 up to 200 MHz, in 1 MHz increments. The RAM I found is Samsung DDR333 at CAS2.5, I intend to use it on a i845D board, that is FSB266 (133*2)...does it make sense this way?
