My System Specs: AMD 1200 TBird Abit KT7a-RAID Motherboard 256 MB PC133 2-2-2 Ram 350 Watt PSU Leadtek 64MB NVIDIA Geforce Pro Sound Blaster Live! (Slot3) Intel 10/100 PCI NIC (Slot5) Maxtor 40 GIG UDMA100 HD (Primary UDMA100 Master) IBM 45 GIG UDMA100 HD (Primary UDMA100 Slave) Yamaha 16x10x40 IDE CD-RW (Primary IDE Master) Plextor 16x DVD Drive (Secondary IDE Master) OS & Software: WinXP Professional Office XP + FrontPage Detenator 12.41 Latest SBLive 5.1 Driver Easy CD Creator 5 Ok guys, I have to say I've never really had the SB Live issue, but in RC1 whenever I browse the web or do anything hard drive related my sound skips and slows down. My PC doesn't crash or freeze up but I have no idea if this is a driver issues with the HP370 Driver, Sound, VIA, ect. Regardless what is the best sound card for RC1, some guys are saying the Philips card. Please let me know which I should buy for similar performace in sound quality to the SB Live. Also I need one with RCA out to my sound system. Please let me know. Thanks Princeali0

Everything installed fine and it boots super fast. The problem I'm getting is with sound, when I play music and browse the Web have breakups in sound, very bad. Also when installing Office XP CPU Utilization was at 100% most of the way throught. I have all my cards in the right spot and their IRQs in bios aren't conflicting (had it working great in 9x but too buggy). Can someone help me fix this problem I'm facing. Also should I install the VIA 4in1s as it is supported by XP already and what NVIDIA Detenator should I install for best performance and stability.

    Problems Installing

Hey all, Our company got me an MSDN account and I downloaded XP to test. The problem is that laptop I'm using has WinME installed. When I run install from windows it tells me it cannot detect the version of windows running and kicks me out of the install. If I boot from a Win98 CD and then browse to the CD and run X:\I386\WINNT.EXE and it starts copying and then locks up saying its still copying and the HD icon on the laptop stays on but nothing happens. Any ideas ?? Please help. Thanks PrinceAli0
