Instead of giving messege board members flak why not fly to the far east and kill all the street vendors selling illegal copies? To those of you that think piracy is ok: A honorable thief is as common as a left-handed samurai...

rOcko: No one hears your small voice anymore. Why not go on irc and find some conflict there? Stop by #riva on efnet sometime so I can test my new bot scripts on you... On SMP with Celerons: SMP and it's benefits are far more dictated by your applications than CPU cache. I have a dual cele 500 Mhz setup and it floats. If you pair a dual cele setup with a GeForce card you're looking at a seriously bad-ass system with few bottlenecks. Go SCSI as well and you can be rOcko's daddy.

I've found that the 3.66 reference drivers are good for d3d. Any beyond that will not work for me. This is with a GeForce DDR but the driver set is the same for your card.

As far as tnt/tnt2/geforce drivers from creative go they really need decent reference drivers from nvidia first. Without a decent base driver that supports SMP, D3D and for love of god a control panel applet creative does'nt really have a choice but to wait. I guess it's possible that nvidia has a decent beta that has not been released except to vendors but I doubt it. All we can do is wait and see for now.

Hmmmm. Think before you speak is probably a good rule for message boards. IPX is the only availible protocol for Diablo and Tiberian Sun on a LAN. I appreciate the support of intelligent members. Others can just stop posting insults or get reported and lose posting rights.

Just make your own console via MMC and use it. This is one thing is was designed for.

Yes remote control of server settings is possible with the MMC. You can add whatever needed snap-ins and save the console and then load it on other machines for remote administration. I suggest a book from MS press on win2k pro for details.

I suspect some drivers will be released. The new Logitech mouseware makes my day! Now I can use the 3rd button on my damn mouse! Aside from those I don't expect anything I need to be released for awhile. I.E. Nvidia drivers, Creative Live! drivers, IPX game patches etc. etc.

I have serious problems getting any IPX LAN games to work with win2k and 98 se machines. The games I've tried so far are Diablo and C&C Tiberian Sun. I set the frame type to 802.3 on the win2k machine to match the rest of mt workgroup and I can "see" other players in network lobby's but if I start a game or try to join a game the win2k player vanishes. Any ideas? BTW I'm 1 step from upgrading all my LAN to win2k. Anyone have success with IPX on a full win2k workgroup?

Using the 3.66 reference drivers I have solid play from Madden 2k and NHL 2k. But sometimes with mIRC open and starting EAsports titles I get hangs. I guess don't multi-task with these titles and try the 3.66 drivers dude.

3.66 works fine for me. All others past that do not work with d3d.

I have a Tyan thunder 100 mobo with dual celeron 500's and a geforce ddr card. I had the same problems with the lockups at first. I bought a 425w power supply and changed the MPS type setting in bios from Generic to ISA and now everything is fine. I use the 3.66 win2k drivers on reactorcritical.com.
