Any kind of HL multiplayer game I try to play (tfc, regular and CS), I have to first get into a server, then my comp messes up, and then when I go back to the same server (or another one) it works just fine. After that it's ok until I exit the HL GUI. I have the latest CS and HL patches 1.10? and 6.6, but I've always had this problem since win2k was installed. I run a voodoo3 2000 oc'd to 168, with wicked GL drivers. SBLive! value w/official liveware for w2k drivers. This isn't a major gripe but since I don't have tons of ram (64) my comp takes about 10 minutes tget into a game. Also, When in a game I hear the same sound twice, ie: my footsteps have an echo, and so do radio sounds in CS. I have the same problem with eax on and off. wow, that was long, plz help anything would be appreciated.

Ever since I installed AT guard and cuteftp4,hard drive tweaks, and messed with deleting gid's and other such "un-needed" files; My mouse goes MIA when hovering over my Liveware bar and most hyperlinks. There are no ads on my all advantage bar(a good thing?), I can't view some webpages such as www.gundamofficial.com, I get "error on page" with a few sites such as ntcompatible.com, and my downloads are only 2k/s with my 56k. I know my problems are numerous, but any insight to help ail my problems?

Ahhh....The evil, that is Liveware, has returned. The best, and least time consuming solution is to reinstall Win2k, I don't mean format and reinstall, simply reinstall and choose the "upgrade" method. After everything is reinstall, install liveware, I have not heard any horror stories of having to reinstall win2k, but this is how I and a few others fixed this problem.... PS , delete all that you can of the old drivers before reinstalling win2k, not sure if it helps, but it's what I did, delete registry files, there are 2 of them , named "Creative Tech",also, delete "C:/program files/creative" folder, and any suspicious dll's that start with "CT", if you want right click and view properties to make sure it is a creative file that you are deleting)

I have a burnt version of driver, all the cracks I have used dont work, they bring up an error that says "The ordinal 828 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.DLL" i donno what that means, but i think it's win2k's fault. Any help?

No, like I said, it's already loaded onto the windows strat from the ctrl panel, and i only have 1 user, the administrator. I am starting to think it may be that I am using a copy of win2k (yeah a copy)

Sorry for spamming the message board , I just thought of maybe a way that can fix devldr32. When I had liveware on win98, I had a shutdown problem similar to yours, id didn't know th cause. I called creative, they told me it was a problem with a startup app, well I tried turning all of them off and the problem persisted. Since creative was of no help I experimented on my own. I found out that it was a conflict between my old soundcard and the sblive(old one was built in ESS solo Motherboardsoundcard), even though the old one was disabled, there were still programs running that kept it alive. The solution was easy after I figured out what was happening. There was a essolo.sys file in my root directory, I deleted that, The file kept replicating though, so I looked in my autoexec and config files, and deleted some lines that had a link to my soundcard. Also looking in running sysedit may help some. After taking out the config and autoexec lines, the essolo.sys stopped replicating. Thusly my shutdown and standby problems were fixed. This may be of some help to you guys, I'm not sure if you all have the same MB as me tho. And lately with win2k, I will put it into standby mode, and after turning it back on my system will automatically reboot by itself at a random time,WTF is up with that? So I just disabled standby, anyone can help me with this problem too? -

I hav not had any problems with devldr32.exe , what exactly does it do? anyone know? I now realise that I don't have a startup and shutdown sound. I have them turned on in the contrl panel, and all my other sounds work correctly. But why don't my startup and shutdown sounds work? Someone please help me! -

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YEAH!!! Pardon my excitement, but the experiment WAS A SUCCESS!!! I have found the cure. Delete all you can of the old drivers...registry entries, and all the files you can find that start with CT(ie ctmm) Then reinstall win2k, chose the upgrade install , unless you want to format C :)After you reinstall, install the drivers, everything works like a charm!!! I got my four speakers back! wooooooooohoooooo! yeah buddy! I'll have to admit, doesnt sound as good as win98 LW3 does, but it's a lot better than the 2 speaker support I got for 3 months!!! Creative sucks, they can suck it! Yoo guys rooole! [This message has been edited by SHS (edited 25 March 2000).] -

So, if I reinstall windows2k, my problems willl be solved? And when I reinstall I don't have to format or lose settings? -
So, all I have to do is reinstall win2k...which does nothing to my settings or games?

OK, I will admit, I am running a pirated copy of office 2k premium(on a CD). If I install the sr-1 update, it will cease to work after 50 uses? What happens when I decide to register it? What if when I register they bust me for having a illegal copy? How bad will it be? Someone please clarify these questions, and not with a bunch of bologna! -bologna?

Thx for the cleanup utility, but IT DIDNT HELP!!! Arrg the frustration ensues. Now that we got past the "liveware sucks" stage, we move to the " I can fix it myself" stage. Lets not be sheep and delete things like I did, ending in lunacy. Someone with patience, please talk to creative, I know their support sucks, but they made the damn card. Ive waited 2 months for my 4 speaker support, and all i get is this crap! I want some damn good drivers, and no more of this faulty liveware crap!

HAHAHAHA, oh I Downloaded the weird INF from the NTcompatible downloads section...it's under sblive inf or something. Just cut and paste it to C:/Windows/inf (inf is hidden) or C:/Winnt/inf .....from there use add new HW manager and locate the INF
