during last days im trying to let winnt5 (win2k) shutdown my computer featuring an ATXboard (asus P2L97) and P2 (300). isnt it possible to do that?
-
i have a shutdownproblem too. when i want to shutdown, my computer RESTARTS! I have an Asus P5A-B BAT-mobo. In win9x, i would get a message like: "it's now safe to turn of ya computer"

hello.. when I try to shutdown win2k, my PC alwaysrestarts I saw i didn't have the choice to hibernate the PC is there a link between these 2 things? ...in win98 my system can hibernate & shutdown.. i have a ACPI bios and ACPI is enabled in win2k (as well as in win98 i guess). i would be glad if one o' you guys would gimme a solution. I'm using Asus' P5A-B BAT motherboard featuring the ALi V chipset. Is this chipset maybe the cause? my friends owns the ATX version of this board and can't shutdown either.

that true my computer cannot switch off automatically but ACPI really is supported, so my computer can hibernate. In win9x, i could shutdown my computer so i got the message: it's no safe to turn of your computer. In win2k that's impossible.

hello.. im using win2k @ the moment and i do not have any problems after all. i have only 1 question, about win2k's command prompt. can't I maximize the window to full-screen format? cause in mysituation, only a part of the screen is command prompt (is it actually the equivalent of win98's MS-DOS prompt?) and i would like to run the command prompt in full screen! i would be glad some o'you guys would gimme a solution.. thankx.

well i own creative's webcam 3 USB and I can run my cam w/ win2K. That's actually because of a trick: i use omnivision's *Dual Mode USB Camera* drivers for my webcam3 and it will work! I only hope creative will release some 'real' drivers some day..

thankx guys, i tried and it worked...

hmm..i guess i tried... isn't this for win98? are you sure the complete screen is MSDOS-black?

yuppiescum i think the best solution is indeed buying a new card....yesterday i read the readme.txt file on my win2kcd and i saw win2k wouldnt accept this ISAcard...but isnt this strange? win2k - for networks - doesnt accept some network adapters? hmm...well im going to the shops now
