Hey all I had Windows 2000 build 2195 installed on a P3 600 with a Riva tnt2 Ultra and a Abit BE6 MB, and the OS ran amazing, hardly any crashes. I recently got another computer for a LAN, ITs an AMD K-7 750mhz, an Asus K7m motherboard, Asus v6800 Pure (3.7.9 drivers) intel 10/100 ethernet, aopen modem, and SB LIVE! Same build of windows 2000, and what i find is that every so often i get random crashes in windows, not doing anything spectacular, just going to START menu, or just in IE. Its a hard crash, no blue screen, and i need to reboot. Does anyone have any idea what is the culprit behind this problem? thanks.

hey, someone mentioned that they didnt have enough time to read that blue screen message before the computer rebooted. Its cause you have automatic reboot checked in you recovery options, (my comp, properties) But problem is that blue screen doesnt give too much detail, just memory dump... I have not gotten Livewire to work at all, whenever its installed, and i try to click on creative mixer, it just bumps my cpu utilization to 100% and sits in task manager as non responsive. im just going to wait till mid march for creatvie official drivers...

I get these wierd crackling sounds when i use my LIVE! SB in win 2k during gameplay. This only happens in games, like Quake 2 and outcast....during weapons discharge. I have altec lansing ACS54 speakers, and the SB lIve!. I tried putting in my AWE64, and there was no crackling....is it my Live! card thats defective(which i just got) or is it lack of proper drivers? i used to the ones were designed for WinNT off the creative site. (sorry about repost, the subject got screwed first time)

thanks, but thats not actually what causes it is it ? Is there anything wrong with a setting that could be triggering that blue screen? or is it just something that has to be addressed in a upgrade (ahem service release)?

I looked under the compatibility guide on this site, and it shows that Kings Quest 8 works, but some problems exist in loading games. However i cannot even start a new game. I am running Win 2000 ver 5. build 2195. After a succesful installation, when i attempt to start a new game, the program gives me a message saying that there is not enough disk space and to free up 1094 megs and try again... i have over 3 gigs of space on that drive. ????? something wrong here. i have 128 ram, a riva tnt2 ultra card (have newest drivers, 3.7.6) awe64 card, p3 600, and abit be6 motherboard. Any help appreciated.
