About this Linux vs Windows debate, I was just reading all the posts, especially the ones on Linux. I've been using a computer for about 10 years and after reading the posts I feel like an idiot about Linux. I mean Linux is about 5 years behind on becoming a consumer os. You think a typical family would know how to compile something out of the box? You think they would know how to recompile the kernel to their liking? No, they'll be looking for an exe to run. The only reason I would run Linux is to either run a server for a game, or to become truly "techy" and brag about me running Linux. The Linux community needs to get some better inspiration. Yea it might be a good/stable os but for 90% of the consumer market it's a pos that nobody in their right mind would run unless you have 6 - 12 months to master it.

Having a little problem installing the latest nvidia drivers, 11.something. I uninstall the default drivers and reboot. Windows automatically reinstalls the default drivers. I try "upgrading" in properties, and select the dir with the new drivers, it says it hasn't detected any new drivers for it. Any help? Thanks

Well I just tried it but same thing. Gives me an error that it doesn't know my video card.

Has anybody gotten the ATI Tv Wonder with their new drivers to work in win2k or whistler with a Geforce 2?
-
F*CK ATI, that's all I can say. Here's the e-mail I got from them. Stupid ATi. Henry, The ATI-TV Wonder will be supported under the Windows 2000 operating system with the ATI Multimedia Center Software 7.1. This software is targeted for beta release in Q3 2000. Please refer to our Windows 2000 FAQ for updates at: http://www.ati.com/na/pages/faq/windows2000faq.html

Finally worked, the first time that I got screwed over was because I had an older version of Mouseware installed but works great now.

Yea happened to me. I just reinstalled win2k

Anybody have this problem with the new drivers? I installed it but then my mouse won't work afterwards. Says something about the device name or profile name is in use.

I have a Linksys LNE100TX NIC. I'm running Win2k and installed the latest drivers off the linksys site for win2k. However, when I startup win2k and then try to access the interent (via Internet explorer, AOLIM, ICQ, etc) it goes for a minute or so then stops, the connection drops and my mouse slows down too. Know what's wrong? Kermy
