    madden nfl 2002

Actually, I have some problems with M2k2 under XP. The game seems to hang and freeze when you're in the menus and stuff for like 3-4 secs at times and then it's fine. It's totally random when it happens and it doesn't happen during actual gameplay. I'm using Detonator 14.70 on XP RTM on an Athlon 1.4 512 MB Geforce 2 GTS. Anyone else see this type of behavior?

Does the win2k-drivers from 3dfx suck or is it just win2k?

He's right. The Voodoo 3 is slower performing in Windows 2000. I have an AMD Athlon 800 and a dual boot system, and the times in Windows 98 are about 30% faster than the times in Windows 2000. The drivers just aren't there yet.

Uhh.... okay... Well, you've um, been very helpful... I think that Madden doesn't like my Athlon very much because I have other problems playing it under Win98 SE. The players jerk all around playing online, even when I have a 50 ms ping. I've tried all kinds of driver sets too, clean install, everything, and nothing works.

Er, can you be a little more descriptive? You mean to say that you have tried to play online and it authenticates fine for you?

    Madden 2000 and Windows 2000

I have found that Madden 2000 works under Windows 2000 using a Voodoo 3 3000 and the widely released hacked beta drivers... However, it is impossible to play it online. I have tried both through their EA Football Net matching service, and a direct IP to IP game. Neither worked; they just hang at the authentication step of the connection initiation. Anyone experience a similar problem?
  6. Hmm, I think that will only allow me up to 85 hz and I want 120hz (which is what my monitor supports.) I will try it though and report back here in a bit.
  7. Hi there. Does anyone know how I can change the refresh rates that my monitor uses in different resolutions? In 98, I used a utility called HZTOOL, which was great, because it allowed my Dell P990 to run my games at 120hz in 800x600, 1024x768, etc... Now my games run in crappy 75hz in all monitor modes and I can't figure out how to change this. This is using a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP. Is there a place in the registry to enter this information? Please don't say I'm condemned to running games at 75hz in Windows 2000. This would really break my heart.
