dear knowledgeable ones, I have had to fdisk my primary partition since it died on me last week, however, along with the fdisk went my boot loader for 2k server. I have tried to do a repair but the installer won't find 2k and I have lost the emergency disk. Is there any way that I can restore my 2kserver installation without loosing all the data on that partition?? I have about 200MB free on the NTFS partition. thanks Kim

Hi is it possible to use both ports on a lan card (I'm using a realtek 8029) ie: I have 2 machines networked by 10baseT with a crossover cat5 cable. can I add another machine by using a BNC cable attached to the connector on the 8029?? cheers CL ------------------ Dual PII233 @ 525 Matrox Mill II 4MB aGP Creative 12MB V2 UW SCSI, 230MB RAM

I've been using winroute now for a couple of weeks and it's sweet set up a network with private IP's and install winroute - choose your ISp from the maintanance box and voila I've never seen a smarter piece of software I'm a convert from wingate anyway give it a go www.winroute.com
-
try adding a interface manually by going to settings>advanced>interface maintanance

I think Belkin make a USB direct cable connection cable - this may work and will obviously be faster than serial - given that both machines have usb ports

Hi peeps - maybe someone can help me out here with an "idiots guide" preferable to Support@RKimTan.co.uk I have a Win2k Adv Server 10.10.1.1 255.0.0.0 connected to the www by a v90 modem (soon to be adsl) this also acts as my DHCP and DNS server. my clients are win98 and obtain addresses from the server in the range 10.10.1.3 to 10.10.1.255 basically I want to be able to get the clients browsing the net - ICS is out of the question since it assigns the addy's 192.168.0.1 etc and it doesn;t work with DNS and DHCP servers anyway - so I'm assuming I need to set up either NAT or IP Routing - does anyone know how to do this - I don't particualry want a dial demand interface - I want to be able to connect the server manually and then let the clients browse TIA Kim
