As of yet only the Anthony Toste hacked drivers (on the 3dfx FAQ page) and the latest 3dfx NT4 drivers work. Neither 3dfx nor Creative have released drivers for win2k

Unreal Tournament works, System Shock 2 doesn't Halflife does, Homeworld does, but without OpenGL... that's all I've tried from your list /K6-2 400 /128 megs RAM /Voodoo Banshee/

My setup right now is I have a hub with my cablemodem and 3 computers plugged into it. I was always under the impression that if I simply plugged another cablemodem into the hub using a cross connect cable, I'd have 2x the bandwidth.. Maybe I'm just dreaming. I suppose one of the two modems would become the default and the other would never get used, or worse and more likely, it wouldn't work at all. I've heared people say they have "Cable x 2" connections, so it's likely there's some way to do it. [This message has been edited by Jabba (edited 10 March 2000).]

Sorry to say...Today I got my hands on a ISO version of the final release. I'm using Voodoo 2, and have the same problem except the screen isn't white, it's multicoloured garble. Works fine in 98 I'm pretty sure that this is the version Lucas Arts will be shipping. BTW, I fully intend to buy the full product once in stores, but I've been waiting so anxiously and couldn't wait [This message has been edited by Jabba (edited 10 March 2000).]

I don't belive it's officially available yet, but the earth 2150 demo can be downloaded from a few websites. If you haven't tried it yet, it's an AMAZING game. Anyways, The game works fine in glide fine, EXCEPT when I play as Lunar Colony or United Central States. When I play as either of these two, it freezes periodically, forcing me into a reboot (ctrl-alt-del just causes graphical gibberish to appear) I tried disabling sound thinking that it was a sound conflict, but it made no difference. In direct3d, the game works fine with all 3 clans except for some pink graphical distoritions where the fog of war normally is. If anyone has some insight into this problem, please share. ----------------------------------------- Creative Voodoo Banshee (waiting for the v4&5 before I upgrade) - using A.Toste drivers Soundblaster Live (non value) AMD K6-2 380mhz (overclocked to 400mhz) 128MB SDRAM WINDOWS 2000 final build -----------------------------------------

I have the exact same problem, except that, well, there's no point in buying a voodoo 3 when the voodoo 4 & 5 are just around the corner. I'm looking for a temporary solution until the 4 and 5 are released. Anyone?

I think you've got an squirrel living in your computer if you have to reboot that often. This OS is stable as unix.

I get intermittent distortions that occur once every 5-10 seconds and that last about 2 seconds. Games are still playable, but it's very annoying. I read in someone else's message reporting similar problems, that moving your card to a different pci slot will fix it. Don't know why the pci slot should matter, but it's worth a try. I just haven't had time to try it yet.

Never used VPN before, but I see that windows 2000 has both VPN server and client built in. I have my box here setup as a server (i think), how do I get win98 machines to become clients as there is no built in client software? My web searches reveal only 3rd party software VPN clients which are not free or shareware.

Seeing as no one was really able to help panther, i don't expect much either, but it's worth a go. I'm having the exact same problem, but with the Creative Banshee, not the voodoo 3. I'm using the latest drivers by Anthony Toste. Any help would be appreciated.

Yup, works now Only trouble now is that that I get this annoying intermittent scratchy distortion/buzz in my output. Happens every 5 - 10 seconds and lasts only a second. Anyone else experience this? I'm using the latest .inf that's available at this time. It's not my card - works fine in windows 98.

I'm having the exact problem that all of you described. I've gone through the hacked lw3 removal process that Mad wrote and posted on the main page, but the .cmd file won't delete any of the files since they are write protected. How can I manually delete them?

Win2k only finds drivers for the Value card in the dell lw pack... but since someone mentioned that they work with the full cards, i tried installing tem anyways. Well win2k won't boot now, it reboots before it hits the login prompt. If i don't install the value drivers then the dell lw software doesn't work (mixer, launcher, and sound apps freeze). Am i screwing the process up or something?

I went through the Liveware 3 installation for Win2k (The one by Anthony Toste), and after it didn't work, tried to return to the old Win2k Basic WDM drivers. The sound is working again, but that little speaker button which usually sits beside the clock at the bottom right hand side of the screen is gone. There looks to be a space for it (as if windows WANTS to put it there) but there's no icon. Anyone know how I'd get it back?
