So why do people say that winxp is sooo much better at games and that win2k is for the workplace

hmm, well any heavy gamers out there that chose Win2k pro over XP and have had success? Just curious.

well both my HDs are ata-100. The 2 ports on the mobo are ata-100 also but I have 2 HDs and 1 dvd-rom and 1 cd-rw. I thought it better to have them all on seperate channels

well with my system which would u use? I like xp pro I just feel it bogges down way to easily after you start installing things

I believe I had tried their new drivers and it aloowed win2k to boot but the HD speed was horrible and even mp3's skipped

well for some reason win2k pro is much less stable on my system than winxp but I find that XP bogs down much faster as you install things on it. im temted to try win2k again but im afraid i will lose gaming performance. Also there seem to be MAJOR problems with the drivers for my Promise Ultra 100TX2 and win2k SP3

I ran a file I should not have, the cleaner and also my up to date virus scanner say nothing but I notice the file Wincfg312 has been modified with todays date

I had to manually run system restore and restore to a previous point. All is fine now but that was the only solution I could find because it renamed some files so that you cant run applications by clicking on their icons.
