  1. well i installed SP3 and damn if my HDs are running slow as molasses. Just noticed that promise put the 39 drivers out to fix a compatibility problem with SP3. Drives running better but not as well as they ran under Winxp. should I switch out scsiport.sys anyway with SP2 version?
  2. LOL am I driving you crazy Dosfreak?

  4. Well my understanding is that win2k runs cleaner, takes less tweaking. XP has better gaming support for older games. Now my question is since win2k pro and winXP each have essentially the same core should games etc that were made to wrok with XP work just fine on Win2k whether M$ stops supporting win2k or not? I own both OS's but think I might benefit from going back to win2k because XP seems to get "junked" up so quickly any thoughts?
  5. Ok well question. If win2k and winxp are the same kernel with different skins essentially. Then why would support for win2k fall off? I mean shouldnt drivers and programs for XP work the same on win2k?
  6. I have installed the latest service pack for wordperfect but still does not run well. I thought it was better than Office
  7. what like c:\windows2 ? would having on same drive and partition cause problems?

    Outlook Express backing up quesiton....

Well I understand that what I meant is that he should download poco mail and import the emails in and then forward them to himself to open in OE. Long way around but might work

    Outlook Express backing up quesiton....

Use Pocomail its way better than OE and imports OE etc easily
  12. Well I have heard some people say that win2k runs alot smoother and is slightly more stable, and then some people say that games are much faster on winxp than win2k. Sigh no definitive answer

Which operating system for my system?

Hey dragon not to share your thread but I was wondering the same about my situation. I will also be playing alot of games, dvds etc on my system. I own both win2k pro and winXP pro. Which do you guys feel I would be more happy with. Thx
  14. Well I used win2k when it was in beta and also with SP1. Have the improvements to the OS via SP3 been that much of an improvement?
  15. so what would be a reason not to go back to win2k pro?
  16. sorry was trying to get both the win2k and XP users opinions.
