also the readme says: 1.25 should be fine Last Updated: 10/10/00 VERSION: FIX: 1.26b IBM DTLA (GXP75) series, ATA-100 drive compatibility with HPT366 controller (for Win98) 1.28b IBM DTLA (GXP75) series, ATA-100 drive compatibility with HPT366 controller (for Win2K, NT) Notes: 1) BIOS version 1.25 should be adequate for either of the above updates, but we recommend matching the HPT366 driver revision (or higher) with the corresponding BIOS version. BETA BIOS updates for PCI cards utilizing the HPT366 are posted on this website. Visit the manufacturer's web or FTP sites for motherboard/HPT366 combinations.

Any difference in Capture quality?

I have been using 99b for well over a year at least and now I formated my HD (like I have many times before) and installed win2k fresh. Then reinstalled icq99b and everytime I put my current number in to reregister me it takes forever and then tells me to call customer support. However 2000a and 2000b register my current number right away. i have tried everything. HELP!!!
-
I checked the ICQ webboard and its a major problem. seems everyone using an older version than 2000a cannot register. something about ICQ upgrading their servers

Ok I have used the search but was not able to find exactly what I need. I am going to start capturing video. Now I have been told that NTFS is the best for that but will my games etc work well under NTFS? Will the system run slower?
-
ok another question then, If I format my HD as NTFS and in that time I copy some files to a cd-r and then some time in the future I switch my HD back to Fat32. Would I still be able to read that cd-r?
-
Ok I knwo that there are not many mpeg2 cards that work in win2k so what I am thinking of doing is installing win98 minimal install on my win2k system and getting a good mpeg2 card that works well in win98. I am looking for one that does hardware mpeg2 and is under $120, pipedream?
-
Some people have said to get a mpeg2 hardware encoder but I only have like $160 to spend so I guess thats out
-
Is it better to run it under win2k or win98 compatibility wise?
-
well i was told to stay away from ATI well I want to make VCD's capture TV shows and put them on cds, capture video from an analog camcorder and put the movies on cds for ditrubution to family members during the holidays
-
Ok I run Win2k, and I would like to do some video capture of TV shows that I like and also start putting my daughters camcorder footage on cd to send out to family members etc. Now I have read and been told that MPEG-2 is the best but hard to find compatible cards in win2k right now. I have also been told that instead of buying an expensive card $200+ I should get like a Wintv Theater or something and use mjpeg or other codecs to capture. I have looked at the wintv cards but the resolution they list as supported is always so low. I understand that my knowledge on video capture is very low and I need some help here. Please guide me to where I need to go since you know what i need now. thanks guys

just got this from their sales dept PV256T MPEG 2 encode/decode card w/tuner is offered at USD175.00. The airfreight is USD35.00. The total cost is USD210.00. We can accept credit card for payment. Regards, Arrow Hsu

I think the PV-256 looks great, now is it overkill for me? i am not looking to do professional video editing per se, I just want to capture video off vcr or TV or my camcorder and make VCDs for family distribution and for viewing at home. maybe burn some TV shows to cd also. Would the PV-256 work well for that?
-
I just got an email from provideo. they dont have any branches in the us yet just tawain but I could order directly from them. hmm wonder how support would be if I have to ship it to tawain
-
Thx for the link SHS, now im not looking at the wintv PVR pci card, im looking at the wintv PVR USB which I know has drivers for win2k already. Compusa has it for $199.00 is that a good price? Would the Provideo PV-256 PCI be a better choice? I think that is $150.00
-
SHS I think I might pick up the Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB, does mpeg1 and mpeg2 and TV tuner and win2k compatible. Looks sweet. what do you think?
-
SHS, any idea how to buy it in the US? http://www.provideo.com.tw/PV256.htm
-
well SHS I dont have a VIA chipset and I dont have a new Intel chipset I have the old tride and true 440BX chipset which seems to work with everything LOL ok well sounds like I should get the PV256 then
-
