hmm well i had the same problem with my modem it would always say that it could not find it. only fix I found was to goto device manager and uninstall the modem and then scan for changes and it would reinstall it and then all was fine.. however after i did a fresh install of win2k pro and then before I install anything I install the SP1. since then I hardly ever get the problem ------------------ Celeron 300a@464 on a Abit BH6 Rev 1.01, 192 Pc100, Matrox G400 32 SH, SBlive Value, Supra Express 56i ISA, all running on Win2k pro with other odds and ends

well on my system Win98 FE seems to run much faster and smoother than win2k the first time i tried it. thats why im trying to figure out if maybe I did not tweaki what I needed etc. ------------------ ***TRUST YOUR TECHNOLUST***

Ok can you guys also tell me specifically which services are allow to disable or set to manual? I tried win2k a while back and did it according to one site and it got all messed up. thx. Ok I just installed Liveware 3 for win2k, and installed system shock2 ad turned EAX on, I notice the difference in the sound but when i play all sounds and music are like muted. they are so low that I have to turn my speakers up very higher just to play. I have a celeron 300a@ 464 running on a Abit BH6 Rev 1.01 with latest bios, 192 megs of pc100 and a Matrox G400 32 meg agp. If i run the card in agp2x after a little while I will get lockups or screen corruption. In agp 1x it works fine. Any ideas? Any similar problems? ------------------ ***TRUST YOUR TECHNOLUST***

Im still running Win2k pro on my main machine but am still testing WinME on a second machine. the Winme machine has 192 megs of sdram and after leaving winme final just running for like 5 hours I have 0% of physical ram left.
