That was funny! So uhhh..... What were those keystrokes to get to that menu??

Well I have not had any problems. Just finished playing Need For Speed 5, Soldier of Fortune and a half hour of quake3. More than enough time (3hours) for the system to go down. Only the 3.81,5.13 drivers have been stable in the past for me. I could care less about losing 1-2 fps moving to the 5.22 drivers. I need the FSAA for Final Fantasy 8! Looks a lot better with it to the max. I've noticed alot of complaints about the new detonator drivers from people with TNT2 cards. On the other hand Ive seen only a couple of complaints with a geforce /intel combo and none from athlon geforce owners. Being that these driver only really allow the use of D3D FSAA I wonder if the TNT2 owners should really be using them anyway? My system. ok, here are MY "The Sims" Problems. Help if you c
GrannyPantyRaider replied to EddiE314's topic in Games
I find that when running active desktop on my Athlon and Celery systems the game will crash back to desktop or will hardlock. I turned that off and lowered the Hardware acceleration down a notch and I run that game all day long and no crashes. Try that if you are using active desktop. Also try lowering that hardware acceleration in the display panel. -
nvidia 5.14 drivers, check the main page, they are on there.
GrannyPantyRaider replied to Arin's topic in Hardware
I had to go back to the 5.13 drivers and even those cause quake3 to drop dead after 15 mins of playing occasionally. Its hit or miss. The performance gain was incredible. Quake2 640x480 5.13 is 209fps Quake2 640x480 5.14 is 217fps Quake3 640x480 5.13 is 96fps Quake3 640x480 5.14 is 99fps My setup is Athlon 650@750, Guillemot GeFroce SDR standard clock, 256 cas pc133 ram, K7Pro MObo, SbLive, Intel Pro 10/100 NIc, USB up da wazzu etc etc. Maybe I need a Bios upgrade? Im running ver 1.3 MSI bios. Anything beats losing work cause the desktop crashed like in th 3.81 drivers. Direct 3D works fine however. If only the Sims would play without that annoying skipping music under win2k. BTW I can play some quake 3 @ 800MHZ 1.75 volts then I get screen corruption and then I gotta close down and reboot. Cache problem? Maybe I should buy a cache mod for this thing? Its a week 10 650 .18 chip that didn't even get hot at 800. GPR -
Same problem with win2k. 1) Retail (PURCHASED) 2) Sound Blaster Live running leaked driver 3) Athlon 650 lots o ram mucho HD space etc. Radio station music skips but the shopping and activity music and all other sounds are fine. Also why does the game take 3 mins to load under Win2k with a 26 gig RAID 0 setup and only 15 sec under win98? WTF!?!?!?!

Cool. I can wait. I got a Sidewinder Freestyle pro that is just awesome. No FF but who cares. Lets hope the drivers are worth a damn when they release em.

Wrtie your own drivers. Im in the same boat as you. They are dog ass slow with support. They have yet to even say at the very least "We will support xxx products under Win2000 in the future "

Didn't know about the force feedback issue with win2k, thanks for the info. Hmmm. I thought the Wheel came with both by default. Mine came with both connectors. Sorry to hear that. I may be selling mine soon. I dont really care for it that much. Under win98, games arent all that great with the wheel. I think Im gonna try out some others. -
logitech formula force serial connection???
GrannyPantyRaider replied to davidferguson's topic in Hardware
USB USB USB. No serial. None nada zippo. It doesnt matter cause the Force Feedback doesnt work under win2k. No auto-centering. :-( GPR -
Well I dont know how to benchmark Q3 though I can tell ya that **** these drivers ROCK! I did bench q2 (demo1.dm2) and I get 205 fps 640x480 with the 3dNow OGL drivers. About half that at 1024x758, and a extremely playable 46fps at 1600x1200. Yes I do still play quake2 sometimes, now at 1600x1200 :-). My crusher scores at 1024x768 were like 98fps. I dont know if thats good or bad. Before the update I could only get 160fps at 640x480. Athlon 650, SDR GForce, SB Live, 256Megs o ram pc133 crucial, blah blah

Didnt help my situation any. I still got the gobbly gook graphics. Geforce SDR, athlon 650, k7pro, 256 micron pc133 cas2, 2x13.6gig 7200rpm raid 0, sb live, bangin' ass speakers, the rest of the usual network, dsl, cdrom ****. GPR

Hey there, Yes you can. I do at home. You need to make one of the machine multi-homed. That is two nic cards. One for the internal network and one for the DSL connection. Ten you need to run either NAT software like Sygate or a web proxy like MS proxy server or Winproxy. Win2k and win98 have internet sharing. I think its win98SE that has it and win98 you need to download the software from M$. MY advice is to use two nic cards of the same brand/type in the box hosting the DSL connection to avoid any headaches. DSL routers are neat but it is an expensive alternative to just running NAT software and two nic cards. If you need more help you can email me at gpraider@hotmail.com. GPR

Try getting rid of the NV*.inf files. also you might wanna check the oem*.inf files for NV*.* strings. get rid of those. then try to install again. oh the path is %systemroot%\inf

I know it sucks but it sounds like overload. I had the problem here with Thief and EAX and turning the wave gain down in the volume control panel helped.

Say man, the live is a great card. What kinda audio equipment are you using with the sound card? I ran this Live value through a Macintosh receiver and onkyo amps with a pair of Infinity Reference speakers and it sounded great.

Make sure that you turn the Hardware acceleration under the multimedia properties. A3D wont work unless the slider is on full. Otherwise the sound will come out equally amost the four speakers. I mean stereo front and rear. GPR

Well start by making a fixed swap file a little under twice the size of your ram. Defrag often. If your drive is not being reported as a DMA device then run to your motherboard manufacturer and get those IDE drivers. Hello everyone. I want yall to do this. Just for fun. Run your machines with the new drivers and 64 MB of ram. I am almost 99% positive you will NOT crash. Just to test. then swap it for that hunk of 128/256 whatever your poison is and watch the puter freeze. It happened to me consistantly. 64mb no probs. 128/256/384 = mucho crashes. A650 on a MSI K7Pro Guillemot Geforce SDR Win2k pro 256MB crucial pc133 2x13.6 7200 Raid 0 and all the other stuff.

is there any way to call for the WINDOW TRANSPARANCY
GrannyPantyRaider replied to Arin's topic in Hardware
Considerably is not the word. Try slows your system to a screeching HALT! Dag. I can live without transparency. :-) oh well. It was a cool idea though. -
Tried the 3.79 drivers from Asus and was humming along last night and I was all ready to post the great news of success until I feel asleep at the keyboard and woke up to a stiff screen. Rebooted and I froze right after I logged in. DO THESE GUYS THOUROUGHLY TEST THE DRIVERS BEFORE POSTING THEM? I bet they develop on Intel systems and not Athlon boxs. How can they miss such a HUGE problem? I give up. 3.75/3.66 coctail for me.

Ya gotta hit ctrl-F at after the IDE detect screen then when you do the array setup there is an option for Block size underneath the array assignments. Upper half of the screen to the right. If you did Auto-setup then you have 64k cause thats what it defaults to.
