I bought a Sidewinder Pro USB yesterday and I installed the Sidewinder 4.0 software that came with it so i could enable and disable proportional control. Now I know it says a message about not being tested with Windows 2000 but the software functions great excpet for one problem, my computer wont shut down or restart. Anyone know a fix?

I am having a strange problem with my 48x Creative Labs IDE CD-ROM (model CD4831E). The drive will function fine for a while but after the drive spins down sometimes the computer says it has been disconnected. The drive then disappears from the system and the CD in the drive is locked in there, the only way it will come back is if I reboot. The drive is on its own controller. My Panasonic SCSI CDR 7502B works fine as a CD reader at least. My Specs: Windows 2000 Pro Asus P2B Asus TNT 16 Meg 128 Megs RAM Sound Blaster Live Adaptec Aspi drivers eraser- lestor_manley@hotmail.com

After i put in the CD the installation program gives me a message about not being tested on Windows 2000. After I say Yes or Ok or what ever the message says the software installed with no problem. eraser-

TV-in works on the 3400 now under win2k with the Asus Live 4 beta 3 software (live40b3.zip). I cant capture too well but they do work fine for TV (no fullscreen yet). I'm using them with the Nvidia 3.81 reference drivers (after installing the Asus 3.79 beta 1 drivers). Good luck. eraser-

I played for about 10 minutes and everything was fine for me with the new drivers. I have an ASUS TNT 3400TV and I upgraded from the ASUS 3.79b1 drivers. My cards not overclocked at the moment, try that next... eraser-

I dont think Windows 2000 seems to even care about this setting, it sticks ALL my expansion cards on IRQ 9 (isnt that the re-direct of 3?). I manually set them all in BIOS so there are no conflicts on my system but Windows just sticks them all back on 9 and I cant change that in Windows 2000. I have no problems as far as I can tell but has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? Check your resources, whats all your stuff on? eraser-

I have a Riva TNT card and in Win9x the card Interpolates 2D stretched bit map games like most Win32 emulators, NBA Hangtime, etc... Ever since switching to Windows 2000 I lost the hardware interpolation. Do the 3DFX Voodoo 3 or Matrox cards support this feature under Win2k yet? Just wondering if the DirectX layer under Win2k will even allow this function. eraser-

It installed on my NTFS partition fine. Game runs great too under win2k except the screen flashes a little with my Nvidia drivers.

Has anyone been able to install this program in win2k? It give me an error about Windows NT when I try to install it. Its a problem with Install Shield©. I tried editing the setup.ins to make it not detect Windows NT but I just ended up corrupting the file. Any ideas? I have the 1.5 OEM version that came with my SB Live. Wish there was a program to decompile the setup.ins file...

Speaking of gamepad problems, anyone tried to use 2 or more sidewinder gamepads on the gameport? On my system 1 gamepad works fine, with two pads the second one twitches to the left, and with three pads both the second and third are stuck in the upper left direction with no control. Heres the really quirky part: all three work fine under control panel! I'm thinking something is wrong with sirect input.. any ideas, this is driving me insane!

I have been having a weird problem with win2k and my 3 Sidewinder Pads. When 1 pad is connected to the machine it works fine, when i hook up a second pad in daisy chain the second pad always has a twitch to the left. The one time i hooked up a thrid the machine reset. This in on a Sound Blaster Live gameport, how ever i put in a CH Gamepad controller and the problem was still there. Anyone have any ideas before i spend money on 4 USB Sidewinder Pros and a hub? Thanks
