any recommendation for the best slot a athlon board?

I solved all my mx300 issues by turning the harware acceleration all the way off for the sound card playback. no more problems for me

Any one know what the difference is between the 3.66 drivers and the rest. They are the only drivers i can use that do not BSOD, hard freeze, or kill the sound. hardware is: sd-11 athlon 600 mx300 geforce

runs fine with me as well, same menu thing i have athlon 6000 with geforce..

Will there be win 2000 support, anyone know? Web site says nothing about it.

To end my freees I just installed the minisys from the 3.66 drivers and it stops all my freezes, any other minisys seems to cause traces left on the screen and hard freezes.

WEll i have been up for 3 days now without a single problem. I promised myself i wouldnt cry.... anyway, thanks for the suggestion with swapping out that SYS file. Since i did it everyting has been perfect. Hard to believe that the video drivers were causing all those problems.

i made the switch mentioned above and i am happy to see i have not had any freezes so far... I will get it another 48 hours before i give it the thumbs up, i have never gottem my machine to last that long since w2k was installed... *fingers crossed*

I have had two freezes already since switching to 1x agp speed. That does not seem to be the fix for me. Outlook does seem to be involved though. But that does not seem to be true every time. Problem is just to random.

I have set my agp to 1x, we will see if the freezes go away. I will post again once it freezes. If it does not freeze in 48 hours i will know the problem is solved for me

I can get it to install and go thru the launch of the game but when it comes to the playing it hangs and will not play?

i also have a mixed setup, my system has ntfs as the primary drive and the rest are fat 32... anyone else also have this... its as good this as anything, i'm gonna see if i can convert my other drives

I agree that the problem does not seem limited to just athlons or any piece of hardware but i would love to try the 3.66 drivers, where can i get them?????? please a link would be nice

I have found some postings on newsgroups about win2k having a tough time on VIA chipsets. I do have a south bridge VIA chip, do we have this in common maybe?
