    Netscape6 Preview3

Has any one taken a look at PR3? I must say they have really gotten the look down! Very sharp! Most of the major bugs seem to be gone, although I can't install Quicktime plug-ins or scroll with my mouse wheel for some odd reason. Their new Gecko engine is also pretty sweet, I don't really see any dif between Netscape6 and IE5.5 and this is still a "beta". Way to go Netscape (I can't bring myself to send congrats to AOHell). Hopefully they can iron out things and get the real release out soon. DX8 beta 2

I am also trying to uninstall Dx8. DragonLord, What was meant by: "If you uncompress the main DX80ntend.exe file with winzip you can run a program called undx8w2k.exe to do this." I also have tried the uninstaller from tweaktown but got nothing. Thanks!

    ATX shutdown in Win2K?

Here's my story....I had soft-off working fine with my BH6 (NV bios from Nov99). Installed the MS Hot-Fix for 2K and no more sof-off. I would get the saving settings and then the Shutting Down system message boxes then just the Blue background screen with my cursor. Nothing would respond, not the keyboard not the mouse, I would have to manually turn the power off. Well yesterday I uninstalled the Hot-Fix and whamo everythings back to running correctly, shutting down now powers off. I don't see how the Hot-Fix would affect APM but something sure did. Anyone got ideas?

    Shutdown..

FYI...Today I uninstalled the MS Hotfix (Critical Update Feb 17 2000) and no more problems with soft-off. Don't know exactly how it affects APM, but if anyone has some info that be great.

    W2k shutdown doesn't power down

Has anyone thought about the problem coming from having the Win2k Hot-fix installed. Shortly after doing that my soft-off no longer functioned. After shutting down message screen would lock up (couldn't even get cursor to move), and had to manually power off. Disabling APM would solve the lock up and give me the safe to turn off message. Any new clues? BH6 Cel 466/128mg Nov99 Bios [This message has been edited by wctodd (edited 07 April 2000).]

    Shutdown..

I am also having problems shutting down. However I was able to do a soft-off until just recently. I have installed the MS hot-fix for 2k and shortly afterward began having the problem. My current senario is: get saving settings and shutting down messages but then nothing. The only thing on my screen is blue shutdown background and the mouse cursor. Am unable to move cursor and my HD light blinks off and on every 2-3 seconds. Eventually I just end up turning off the power. I'm thinking it was the Hot-fix but am looking for more info.

    Logitech webcam

Just for info, I have a QuickCam Web. (Nothing more than the Home w/ USB). Under Win2K the camera works fine, it's just the software from Logitech that doesn't function in 2000. I have used the camera for video conferencing with no problems. Have been looking at Logitech's site for weeks in hopes of software updates but now they say it'll be May before they release anything. (Had to look pretty deep to find the page, I think it was under Win2K support for the QuickCam).

    Hard freeze with win2000

I had the same problem, however mine turned out to be part of my home network settings. Whenever I booted Win2K and didn't have my other computer powered on it would lock up 10-15 seconds after the login. If you are networking computers double check your network settirngs. Make sure you're not running NetBIOS. Removing that solved my lock-ups.
